and queens. And when finally they came to that part o f the chorus where, with a shout, they proclaim Him King of kings, suddenly the young queen arose and stood with bowed head, as if she would take off her own crown and cast it at His feet. — J. W ilbur C h a p m a n . The Goodness of God R eview Memory Verse: “ The earth is full o f the goodness o f the Lord” (Psa. 33:5). Lesson 1. “A King Who Was Not Kind.” This king made trouble for himself and for his people because he was proud and
Word speaks of Christ as the Water of Life which satisfies the thirst o f the soul. Christians are left on the earth to give the Water of Life to the unsaved. After the woman at the well found Christ as her Saviour, she went to give the Living Water to the people of her city. Here is Mr. Hose. A hose is intended to carry water to something in. need o f water. This plant looks thirsty, so we will give Mr. Hose the water and see whether he will give it to the plant. No water comes out. No wonder! The hose is plugged up with this black cloth. Many Christians, like Mr. Hose, fail to give the Water of Life to the unsaved. Some black sin stops the flow. When the sin is removed, the Water of Life can be carried to the thirsty. This is Mrs. Hose. She is not quite as tall as her husband. She takes the water but does not give it. The green cloth of “ Envy” keeps her from giving the water. You will not be able to give the Water of Life unless your life is clean. Henry is the oldest son. He is nearly as tall as his father. A nickel keeps him from giving the water. Many people are so busy getting money that they are unable to pass the Water o f Life on to thirsty souls. The yellow cloth o f “Worldliness” keeps Elizabeth from giving the water. A Sun day-school teacher was once seen at a show by one o f the pupils, who said, “What are you doing here ? I thought you were a Sun day-school teacher.” That teacher very wisely quit the thing that hindered her in giving the Water o f Life. Tom does not give the water because of the purple cloth of “ Pride.” I f people find out that you are proud, they will not re ceive the Water of Life from you. Some cellophane paper keeps Es t h e r from giving the water. You can see through it, and it does not look very bad. But there are many things in life which, though in themselves they do not look bad, hinder in giving the Living Water to the unsaved. Here is little Mary. As soon as she gets the water, she gives it out. It is best to always keep the life clean, in order that God may use us at any time to give the Water o f Life. Evangelistic Notices Leonard J.
