YMIN 2022 Essential Characteristics of Youth Leaders Ct, 3 credit hours

This course is designed to enhance students’ spiritual leadership in all aspects of their lives. Through this course, undergraduates will learn to identify the components of good spiritual leadership. Students will have the opportunity to apply their developing leadership skills through onsite ministry experiences and internalize related godly principles through individual mentoring relationships. Students will be challenged to value and take ownership of their spiritual leadership responsibility, preparing them to be godly leaders and mentors.

This course will explore the environment, customs, character, and role of women in the Bible and in the church along with the scriptural approach to women’s ministries and the various ministries available to Christian women today. This course is designed to help the student recognize the value of God’s spiritual gifts to each individual and give guidance in developing and using her gift(s) as directed by God’s Word. Personal reflection will reveal the student’s strengths and weaknesses and apply this knowledge for godly leadership in the home, church, and community. Study will impart scriptural principles and insights that will serve as a basis for developing a biblical worldview of women’s leadership in ministry. This course will impart an awareness of what is involved in training for various ministries, and how to best implement these ministries for the glory of God. YOUTH MINISTRY YMIN 2021 Overseeing in Youth Ministry Ct, 3 credit hours This course explores the essential qualifications and preparations required to excel as a youth leader, emphasizing effective relationships with teens, families, and the church community. Students will identify and explain the foundational principles of youth ministry, analyze the dynamics of evangelism, discipleship, teaching, and counseling, and evaluate best practices for outreach on public school campuses. Through practical exercises, students will apply their learning to plan and promote ministry initiatives, including mission trips and community events. By the end of the course, students will synthesize these elements into a cohesive ministry strategy, preparing them to create and lead impactful, Christ-centered programs for youth.

YMIN 2031 Philosophies and Programs in Youth Ministry Ct, 3 credit hours

This course examines contemporary philosophies and program resources available for effective youth ministry. Students will explore and explain scriptural principles, analyze modern youth culture through personal research and hands-on experiences and evaluate program materials for alignment with ministry goals. Through collaborative discussions, students will develop a personal philosophy of ministry tailored to the needs of students and create guidelines for selecting and implementing impactful program materials. By the course's conclusion, students will be equipped to design and lead youth ministry programs rooted in biblical principles and cultural awareness.

YMIN 3011 Fundamentals of Professional Youth Ministry Ct, 3 credit hours

This course is designed to assist undergraduates in developing skills necessary for youth ministry. Emphasis will be placed on the acquisition of practical experience through participation in local youth-based organizations. Through lecture, fieldwork, and mentoring, the student will be thoroughly equipped for administrating a ministry. Taking the knowledge presented in this class, students will be encouraged to foster transformational life change in themselves and others.
