Free yourself from the inconvenience of lower dentures with dental implants Full or partial dentures can be a constant source of discomfort for many people. They move, rub, are uncomfortable and can even hurt. But there’s a modern solution to the rescue: dental implants. These little marvels of dental technology can turn a mediocre dental experience into something remarkable. Let’s explore how dental implants can solve the problems associated with lower dentures and offer a long-lasting, comfortable solution. Lower dentures often pose major problems. They tend to move and shift, which can cause constant discomfort. Its imposing size can make it uncomfortable to wear, and it has few anchorage points, often floating in the mouth due to the natural movements of the tongue and jaw. Worse still, the situation tends to worsen over time. Fortunately, dental implants offer a revolutionary solution to these problems. By firmly anchoring prosthetic teeth in the jaw, they greatly minimize, if not eliminate, unwanted movement. Imagine teeth that snap firmly into place in your mouth, allowing you to move from awkward dentures to teeth you enjoy, are proud of and have complete confidence in. Patients who have opted for dental implants often express their joy after treatment. For many, it’s the best dental care decision they’ve ever made. The increase in stability, comfort and self-confidence is often palpable. An Option for Patients If you’re about to lose several teeth and currently wear dentures, it’s imperative to have a discussion with your denturist about the options available to improve your situation. Dental implants are not just for those who have lost all their teeth; even partial denture wearers can benefit from this procedure. Dental implants represent a significant breakthrough in dental care, offering an effective solution to common problems associated with lower dentures. Free yourself from the inconvenience of dentures with the stability and confidence that implants can offer. If you’re about to make important decisions regarding your dental health, be sure to carefully consider this promising option with the help of your dental professional. You could be on your way to a carefree life and a radiant smile. Nicholas Fournier, DD MAKING LOWER DENTURES WORK

ANIL JHALLI anil.jhalli@eap.on.ca ROCKLAND FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE GOING STRONG AFTER THREE DECADES playing, these guys are just the best. It makes you feel young again.” The game marked the end of the Rockland Flag Football League’s 34th season.
When the league was first formed in 1991, there were four teams. Now, the league has six teams that play twice a week at the sports field just outside l’Escale. Epps said there are no plans to change the location of the games. “There was a time when we had to play somewhere else because they were doing some work on the field,” recalled Epps. “It’s an ideal spot and has lots of lighting. We play until November, and playing in August and October is different because of how much sooner it gets dark.” Epps said that while there is a level of competition, and players ramp up their inten- sity as the season progresses and into the playoffs, he admires how close many of the players have become. Even after the championship game between Team Chevy Trucks and Team Che- vrolet, which took place on Saturday, Nov. 2, once the final whistle blew, the two teams left everything on the field and congratulated each other on another great season.
“There is definitely that competitive spirit; the players want to win, and they want to see their name on the trophy—the Silver Cup,” said Epps. “But once a game ends, they’re just catching up, joking, and laughing with each other. There have been some great friendships formed and strong camaraderie between many of the league members.” Next year, Epps said he hopes to organize an event to mark the league’s 35th year. As another year comes to a close, Epps has certainly thought about the future—and possibly one day handing the reins of the league over to someone else, or a group, who can run it when he decides to step down. “I am not a young guy anymore,” said Epps. “I’ve mentioned in the past that there will come a time when I’ll have to consider stepping away from the league. And I feel we have a great group of people who can carry it on because we’ve created something fun and special that has been going strong for a long time.”
For the past 33 years, Fred Epps has essentially been the “everything man” for the Rockland Flag Football League. Epps has not only been playing in the league since its inception 34 years ago, but he has also been running it, showing up 30–45 minutes before the game starts to make sure everything runs smoothly. “After our first year, we had an election, and I was voted in to basically run it,” said Epps in an interview with The Vision, just a few weeks after the 34th season of the Rockland Flag Football League wrapped up. “I was surprised because I didn’t really know anybody at the time.” He doesn’t have an official title, but he’s been called the league’s president, organizer, and planner. Epps described the journey as a blast and said he wouldn’t trade it for anything. “I know I am not as young as I used to be—I was 41 when I first started playing in this league,” said Epps. “Once you start
