78 people over their educational and religious institutions, the original character and purpose of this Christian nation has been changed to an alarming degree. Third, We believe that when the mothers and fathers of America’ realize what is being taught their children in the public schools, there will be a righteous uprising in every state that will shake the nation. Fourth, We claim that while ninety per cent of the laity of the evangelical churches of the country are fundamental ists at heart, they have allowed the other ten per cent, who preach and teach this pagan philosophy, to poison the minds and hearts of the children in our tax-supported schools, by the use of text-books that ought never to have been allowed, and as a result, thousands of children from Christian homes are graduating each year from these schools as Agnostics, Modernists, Evolutionists and Atheists. Fifth, We charge that these Evolutionists, as part of this conspiracy'control the text-books used in the tax-supported schools of this country, and teach doctrines to our youth that discredit and insult the Holy Bible. If the Bible cannot be allowed in the public schools, why should other books, that seek to discredit and destroy it, be permitted? Sixth, We charge that these conspirators control our higher schools of learning— colleges and universities— that are largely ^supported by fundamentalists without whose knowledge or consent they have used this money to assas sinate the “ Faith of Our Fathers” in the very institutions that were founded by them. We assert that this is not com mon honesty, and is selling goods under false pretenses. Seventh, We charge, further, that these teachers of rationalism, and their associates, occupy the pulpits of Methodists, Baptists, Presbyterians, Protestant Episcopal and other Evangelical churches under the guise of “ min-, isters of the Gospel.” This is “ sailing under false colors,” and is a betrayal of Christ and the Bible for a paltry “ thirty pieces of silver.” n • ^ Eighth, We further charge that the religious press of the country, with some exceptions, has shown a pitiable and pathetic surrender of Christ and the Bible to this false philosophy, and this charge includes the Sunday school pub lications and publishing houses of some of the larger Pro testant denominations. Ninth, Not content with this invasion of America, these world-wide conspirators and their colleagues have included in their)destructive plans, the missionaries of the foreign fields. Posing as Fundamentalists, they have secured funds, through the churches, by deliberate misrepresenta tion, not for the purpose of preaching fundamental Bible doctrines, such as the Virgin Birth, the Atonement, the Redemption of mankind, and the Resurrection, but rather substituting this false German philosophy for Christ, the Bible and God. Tenth, As two results of this destructive philosophy we suffered the world war, and now endure a moral break down. The nation is inundated by a great tidal wave of crime, embracing law violations of all kinds, Sunday dese cration, an alarming increase in divorces, and a tremendous drop in moral standards and ideals. Since this terrible indictment is true, is there not need of this Crusade? Should the great American people longer be dominated by this conspiracy? A thousand times, No! The Fundamentalists in every state should rally to the flag of the Bible Crusaders, and stand like the Spartans at Ther mopylae and with the courage of a St. Paul, to resist the invasion of the enemy. There are millions of Fundamental ists in America. If they use their numerical strength, they will overwhelm the enemy-
The following are the ten remedies we offer: The Remedy
First, Demand that our legislators shall enact laws in line with that of Congress, viz., that nothing that is dis respectful to the Holy Bible, shall be tdught in the public schools of our states, and vote to displace any legislator, regardless of party, who refuses to do this. Our Crusade is not against true science, but is against the substitution of unscientific,, evolutionary chaos, for the Bible. Second, Notify the Modernist missionaries in foreign fields that your dollars will be withheld until they line up with Christ and the Bible, and discontinue teaching man made philosophies. Third, Immediately notify your Sunday school and church publications, which teach this philosophy, to cancel your subscriptions, and then substitute for them publications that are true to the teaching of Christ and the Bible, and a mir aculous change will result. Fourth, Form a group of Fundamentalists in your church and notify your rationalistic preacher that he is a misfit In gn evangelical pulpit and that a change must be made. Fifth, Withhold your Fundamentalist gifts from, and your legacies to rationalistic colleges and universities, and before long they will go out of business or become Funda mentalist schools of learning. Sixth, Likewise, do not send your boys and girls to these colleges and universities as students, and thus at the source cut off these streams of poison from the class rooms of the colleges that are- making Agnostics and Atheists of your children. s*t~ Seventh, Organize Laymen’s Leagues within the different denominations and elect only such delegates frpm your churches to church conferences, conventions, and pres byteries as are known to be “ the old guard,” and sound' In the orthodox faith. Eighth, Organize a battalion of Crusaders of all denom inations in your community and help extend this movement ^ to other Every member of The King's Business Family may aid in this great enterprise in defence o f the faith by .actively and definitely seeking to extend the influ ence of The King’ s Business. Let us exert every effort to this end.
