It is A sacredly beautiful life story but it is morel The two volumes in one $5.75 Robert Morrison (The Pionser of Chinoss Missions) By William J. Townsend Mary Slessor of Calabar

Far from it: we have shown that His visit sealed the condemnation of those spirits already there. The common mistake seems to be in taking for granted that the word “ preached” means to preach the Gospel, which it does not. Generally speaking, the word used for Gospel preaching of God’s grace is “ evangelize,” “ to tell good news.” John the Baptist “ preached” ( “ made a proclamation” ) that the king dom of Heaven is at hand, because he was a fore-runner or herald of the King. The word “ spirit” standing alone never refers to men In Scripture. When intended for men It Is always qualified. PITHY PARAGRAPHS No fault can be found with God for He never has failed. It is not what you give that tells; but the weight is in the way you give. If you purpose to be a personal worker, you will need the wisdom of God’s Word. The full-fledged Christian is a strong man, for the “ joy of the Lord is his strength.” Live close to the Lord and He will whisper into thine ear the secrets of His soul. Unsaved men are dead men. What they need is life. The Word of God is a life-giving Word. There are plenty of fish in the sea, but most people fall to see them. (Matthew 4:19 ). When you are seeking to save the soul of a man, let him have his say, then saturate him with the Word of God. It is right that a loafer should lose his job, but a Chris tian loafer loses the Joy of the Lord. Many a Christian might have had a call to special service for the Lord had they been within calling distance. / If the world is a restless place, then point men to the place of rest. The arms of Him who said, “ Come unto me and I will give you rest” are outstretched arms. If you sleep too close to the edge of the bed, you may lose your balance and fall; but if the believer lives too close to the border line of the world, he is sure to fall. The sweetest fellowship on earth is found by those believ ers who follow His request and gather with Him at His table and bask in the sunshine of His love as they take the bread and cup with Him.

By W . P. Livingstone *'The life story of Mary Slessor, of Calabar, rivals in many particulars the thrilling story of the heroism and de votion of David Livingstone. The success that rewarded her toil was very great and will multiply as the years pass. Honored by government officials, lovedby her fellow workers and almost shipped by the children, men ana women about her, she gladly lived her life to the full. The story of her life recently published, surpasses "Think ing Black" in interest and gives not only a vivid pic ture of life in the African bush, but also the power of a life that was glorified and transfigured by a full devotion to her Lord.** — Missionary Review of the World. Price Cloth $2.00
