An 83-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder after a stab- bing in Rockland on Friday afternoon. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a home on Laurier Street shortly after 3 p.m. on Friday, April 4, fol- lowing reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, identified as Dharmesh Kathireeya—an Indian national in Rockland on a work visa—being transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say foul play may be involved in the case of a missing Rockland man. Robert Provost, 63, was last seen in early February at his home on Laurier Street. The Russell County OPP detachment began its investigation into Provost’s disappearance in mid-March. Provost is described as five-foot-six with a slim build, long light brown and grey hair, and blue-grey eyes. He may be wearing a knee-length, light brown winter coat. The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the OPP’s Criminal Investi- gation Branch. Investigators are seeking information from anyone who may know about Provost’s disappearance or whereabouts. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Russell County OPP Crime Unit at 1-888-310-1122 and refer to incident RM25061375.
