Our Thanksgiving Tradition Sharing Stories With Tony’s Turkey Trot
Every year, my Thanksgiving starts bright and early. Danielle and I take our daughter, Isabella, and the whole family to participate in Tony’s Turkey Trot. This 5K run benefits TBI Fund Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to raising funds and awareness for anyone who has suffered from a traumatic brain injury (TBI). In Florida alone, more than 210,000 people are living with TBIs, and this condition can be a physical and emotional strain on everyone involved. Tony’s Turkey Trot was started by Anne Marie Tucker and named after her father, Tony Meduri. Tony suffered a TBI after being hit by a drunk driver while heading home after a car show. Left without any short-term memory, Tony spent years receiving 24/7 care at a TBI facility in Clearwater. But there is a lot more to Tony than his accident or injury. Born in Italy, Tony came to the United States with his family when he was 9 years old. At 17, Tony broke his neck and ended up getting his high school diploma while still in the hospital after being told he would never walk again. But Tony wasn’t the kind of guy who just gave up. After intensive therapy and rehab, Tony regained the use of his body. He would graduate from the police academy, raise two daughters, and spend 32 years on Investment Advisory Services offered through Retirement Wealth Advisors (RWA), a Registered Investment Advisor. Wolf Retirement Navigation LLC and RWA are not affiliated. Investing involves risk including the potential loss of principal. the force before retiring as a lieutenant from the Delaware River Port Authority. Like many people, Tony knew Florida was the perfect place to retire, so he built a home here in the Sunshine State and spent his time taking his prized ’34 Ford to car shows. In addition to helping get care for over 210,000 Floridians who suffer from TBIs, Tony’s Turkey Trot reminds us that everyone has a story. Danielle’s sister, Candace, suffered from a traumatic brain injury after being thrown from her horse. She lived the last 13 years of her life without any long- or short-term memories. I never got a chance to meet Candace before her accident, but I enjoyed hearing stories about her life. A professional trainer, Candace showed horses and taught kids how to ride. She filled every moment with laughter and loved her family dearly. When someone has an accident, sometimes all people see is the resulting injury, but every person has a lifetime of stories that deserve to be told. I’m proud to honor Candace and share her story through our participation in Tony’s Turkey Trot. In addition to running with my family and our team, Wolf Retirement Navigation will be the lead sponsor of the event. professional before making any investment decision. Last year, nearly 1,800 runners signed up for the race, but due to bad weather, only 600 people ran that morning. This year,
we’re looking at more than 2,000 participants; and, with any luck, everyone will be able to run. If you want to support a great cause — or just earn that extra piece of pie at your Thanksgiving meal — you can register for Tony’s Turkey Trot until Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, by visiting TonysTurkeyTrot.com . If you can’t participate in the run but want to join the cause, there are a number of volunteer opportunities still available. And, of course, any donation is greatly appreciated. I would love to see everyone out there having a great time and sharing the stories of people who are no longer able to tell their own stories themselves.
Yours In Service and Friendship,
–Adam Wolf, CPA, CFP ®

AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE SHOULD LAST BEYOND THANKSGIVING
Taking the time to acknowledge who and what
gratitude will help you take stock of the positive aspects of your life and dwell less on unhappy thoughts. Being grateful has also been linked to significant health benefits. According to gratitude expert and author Dr. Robert A. Emmons, “Preliminary findings suggest that those who regularly practice grateful thinking do reap emotional, physical, and interpersonal benefits. Adults who keep gratitude journals on a regular basis exercise more regularly, report fewer illness symptoms, feel better about their lives as a whole, and are more optimistic about the future.” How to Practice Gratitude In the above quotation from Dr. Emmons, he mentions the practice of keeping a gratitude journal. This activity is a great way to start seeing the world with a more positive, appreciative eye. As often as you can, take a few minutes to write down the acts,
people, and moments that you’re grateful for. Some will be big, others small — but all will have an impact on your mood and bring a smile to your face. Before you know it, you’ll have an entire book full of good memories and warm feelings. While keeping a journal is great, there are other ways to go about cultivating and expressing gratitude. The easiest one is simply to say “Thanks” whenever you can. It may seem insignificant, but you’d be surprised what a difference it makes. When you approach the world with the perspective that every day is Thanksgiving, it’s only natural to be grateful. We all have moments when we want to curse the world, especially as we get older, and those experiences are perfectly normal. Just as frequently, though, we have moments that are worth celebrating, often with people who are worth appreciating. Which will you think about more?
you’re grateful for is a Thanksgiving tradition far more important than turkey or football. It’s
the cornerstone of the holiday and the reason we feast together in the first place. But when you really think about it, should expressing our gratitude and appreciation for others be limited to one day every year? Of course not! Why Gratitude Matters As we get older, it’s easy to succumb to negativity and pessimism — “Kids these days,” “The world isn’t what it used to be,” etc. The crabby grandparent and angry old neighbor are archetypal depictions of later life. But these fictions don’t have to be your reality. Recognizing and acknowledging

How to Reduce Your Tax Bill in 2019
Whether you are having a great financial year, rebounding from some unfortunate recent losses, or still struggling to get off the ground, you might be able to save a bundle on your taxes if you make the right moves before the end of the year. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics and its new data on consumer expenditures, Americans spent more on taxes than they spent on food and clothes combined in 2017. People sharing a single household — defined as “consumer units” — spent an average of $9,562 on food and clothing but spent more than $16,000 on federal, local, and state taxes. Because the difference in these numbers is quite high, our team here at Wolf Retirement Navigation wants to offer you some tips to assist with your year-end tax planning. Retirement Accounts
they compound over time tax-free and are free of taxes at the time of distribution. Contribute annually to a Roth IRA. The maximum amount of money allowed is $5,500 for 2018 and $6,500 if you are age 50 or over. You must have earned income (i.e., be working or be a spouse of someone who is working). In addition, if you own an IRA, 401(k), or other tax- deferred investment, you are eligible to convert a portion or all of tax-deferred plans to a Roth IRA. You must pay taxes on the amount converted, but when you withdraw funds in the future, they are tax-free distributions. If taxes increase because of unsustainable federal debt and spending, then you are protected against these increased taxes.

3 Famous Movie Locations You Need to Visit Why Watch the Film When You Can See It With Your Own Eyes?
Tips forYourTripBack inTime
Christ Church Cathedral Harry Potter captured the imagination of the world. There are multiple sites across the United Kingdom where you can get lost in the adventure that shaped a generation, but there is one spot at the top of almost every fan’s list. Hogwarts is a magic castle in J.K. Rowling’s books, but in real life, its film location is a functioning cathedral in Oxford. Take one step onto the grounds of Christ Church Cathedral, and you might begin to wonder when the next Quidditch match will begin. Tikal National Park When George Lucas witnessed a poster of this famous archeological site, he didn’t see an ancient culture — he saw Yavin IV, the perfect location for the Massassi Outpost, a rebel haven found in the first film of Star Wars. Though the movie paints a futuristic look at the region, walk through Tikal
Movies captivate audiences partially because of their ability to transport you to a different place. The heart yearns to be taken places, and cinema facilitates that journey. But what if you could immerse yourself in those fantastical worlds by visiting the destinations that you’ve seen on the big screen? Here are three places that are worth the trip. Hobbiton The only aspect of “The Lord of the Rings” that is more compelling than the fantastical journey of Frodo is the alluring, untamed countryside and quaint towns that make up Middle Earth. The Green Dragon Inn, Bilbo’s house, and the rolling hills of New Zealand make for a backdrop that will transport you straight into the life of Middle Earth’s smallest people — only these houses aren’t small at all. And you don’t need large, hairy feet to enjoy them.
National Park, and you’ll experience it as a trip through history.
