Candidates for appointment, reappointment, or promotion to Associate Professor have fulfilled the expectations described for appointment to Assistant Professor. Appointment as Associate Professor requires an on-going involvement with departmental programs and dedication of the individual to departmental goals and programs. There is an expectation of scholarly productivity (such as participation/presentations at regional and/or national meetings, and/or publications) or special accomplishments that enhance

the profession. PROFESSOR

Candidates for appointment, reappointment, or promotion to Professor have fulfilled the expectations described for appointment to Associate Professor. Appointment as Professor is a distinct honor requiring continuing long-term and exceptional contributions to teaching, mentoring, service and/or scholarly productivity (such as participation at regional and national meetings, and/or publications). Documentation and recommendations are as indicated above for AssociateProfessor. REAPPOINTMENT Reappointment is contingent upon the satisfactory performance of the candidate, the continued need for the faculty member's services, and the availability of appropriate funds to support the salary. Faculty members with adjunct appointments in a department must comply with the ARPT criteria of that department for individuals at the same rank. PROMOTION Promotion in the Adjunct Track reflects the importance of the candidate's role, the quality of performance, and recognition of an exemplary professional commitment. Faculty members with adjunct appointments in a department must comply with the ARPT criteria of that department for individuals at the same rank.
