Finally, they decided to take us to the Taverna Hotel to check into our rooms. The hotel is centrally located and has very comfortable rooms. Their floor numbering system took a little getting used to since the ground floor is not synonymous with the first floor here. The backdoor of the hotel opens onto the pedestrian mall called Vaci Street where all the trendy shops and restaurants meet the visitor’s tired and hungry eyes. We were all certainly quite hungry and since lunch today was “on own” as Andrea put it, we streamed out back looking for food. Some of us found it at a Burger King not far from the Taverna. Some met there for lunch. The others apparently visited a pizza hut and enjoyed a bit of American chow as well.
