Beautiful Blue Danube Waltz - 2002

We all wanted to see the St. Stephen’s Basilica, so off we headed to see the church that claims to have the mummified hand of St. Stephen as its most holy relic. We were not able to view it however; but we would not have presumed to judge its authenticity anyway. So instead we climbed the north tower above the dome so we could get an overview of the city. On our way up to the tower, we had to ride a tiny elevator for about 150 ft. which were not open for climbing and we all hated it—so small and claustrophobic. We definitely refused to take it down and were lucky because the stairway down was open all the way; even though it was a narrow, tightly wound spiral, it was preferable to that little “moving coffin”. 94
