The General Market is quite a fascinating place and GCT’s idea to send us to market was inspired. It certainly gave all of us a much clearer idea of how the real Hungarians shop, cook, eat, and spend their money. The fruits and veggies, meats, fish, and poultry were all fresh and very inexpensive by our lights. Most were familiar to us but there were some fruits and veggies that we could not identify. We can testify that the raspberries were fresh, delicious and cheap!
Our group's representative cooks received aprons and cook’s hats (rather like army berets really except white) and prepared the stuffed paprika under the chef’s helpful eyes.
