Salary Deductions and Garnishments Federal, state, and local laws require COPC to withhold the following from an employee’s paycheck: ● Taxes - Federal, state, and local taxes, as required by law, as well as the required FICA (Social Security) and Medicare withholding, and matching programs as required by law. Other voluntary tax deductions like courtesy tax, are made only at the written request of the employee. ● Benefits - COPC will deduct premiums for the benefit plans in which the employee enrolls. This may include health insurance, 401(k), voluntary benefits, etc. Deductions will be either pre-tax or post-tax as specified in the plan information and documents.
● Garnishments - COPC may receive legal paperwork which legally requires the Company to garnish an employee’s paycheck. We must abide by this until ordered otherwise by the courts or until the debt is repaid in full. Should an employee have questions about a deduction from their pay, contact the Payroll Department at Payroll@copcp.com to ensure the situation is investigated and resolved, as appropriate.
