For nearly 30 years, the Gamut Theatre Group, including the Popcorn Hat Players Children’s Theatre and the Harrisburg Shakespeare Company, has featured exciting adventures and classic tales on the stage. This January, the theater’s Stage Door Series will present “Journey to the Center of the Earth” on Jan. 17–19 and 24–26. Adapted for the stage from the novel by Jules Verne, this production will send audiences on a trail-twisting adventure through some of Earth’s most wild terrain. Learn more about this production and future shows on the theater’s website.
Roadways may be treacherous this time of the year, but the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum (AACA) can take you on an adventure without leaving Dauphin County. Learn the unique history of vintage cars, motorcycles, bikes, buses, and vehicle collecting on all three levels of this museum. Ask for a guided tour or enjoy the interactive exhibits on your own. Affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution, the museum has been listed on numerous “best of” guides for tourists, and it’s the perfect spot for locals searching for a quick getaway.
