NICK BATEMAN GOLF MAINTENANCE

This tenured employee has embraced “through continuous improvement” wholeheartedly. Last year he asked if he could study Pesticide application manuals for the opportunity to test for his registered technician license. After a few months waiting on paperwork he successfully attained that. Over the winter months he asked if he could participate in the sixteen-week Virginia Tech School of Turfgrass Ecology and Management short course online. Unfortunately, we did not have budgeted money for it so he was encouraged to apply for a scholarship fund which would provide a spot if selected into the program. He did this on his own time and was awarded within a few weeks. Once the tested course had completed he was offered to take a series of review tests in order to earn a Certificate of Achievement. Though this was optional this employee took more of his personal time to take these tests and was awarded the commendation shortly after. Along with never being late to a shift, volunteering to cover other teammates, and having a great attitude on the golf course, I believe this employee is well deserving of an MVP award.
