ADRIAN WINSTANLE Y, OBE, LONDON COURT OF INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION Adrian has fulfilled the role of Chief Executive Officer at the LCIA for over 17 years, with day-to-day responsibility for all aspects of the conduct of the business and has acted as the principal point of contact between the institution and its Board and Court. Jacomijn vanHaersolte-vanHof has been appointed to succeed AdrianWinstanley as LCIA Director General on30 June 2014. Adrian has a BSc with first class honours from the London School of Economics, a diploma in law fromWestminster University, and is an English solicitor, having been in practice at Clifford Chance before his appointment as Registrar of the LCIA in January 1997. As Registrar of the LCIA between January 1997 and April 2008, Adrian oversaw the administration of many hundreds of arbitrations, arising from the widest range of international commercial contracts. He sits on the Board of the International Dispute Resolution Centre (IDRC) in London, which provides comprehensive ADR support services. Adrianwas Secretary-Treasurer of the International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI) from2000 to 2009; and a Vice President of IFCAI from 2009 to 2013. Adrianwas awarded the OBE (Officer –Order of the British Empire) in June 2013 for services to international arbitration.

Ben is amember of theManagement Board and has been the Global Head of Dispute Resolution and International Arbitration since 2013. Ben has extensive dispute resolution experience, especially in international arbitration, including at the ICC, LCIA, LME and LMMA. He has particular expertise in the upstreamoil &gas and trade& commodities sectors. He led the substantial Clyde&Co team representing Yemen in the high profilemulti-billion dollar arbitration against various US oil interests, which resulted in a landmark result in Yemen’s favour. Ben has successfully represented Yemen in a number of other cases. Ben is recognised as a leader in his field by the legal directories andwas named a Reuters Super Lawyer in 2013, demonstrating excellence in the practice of law.
