For us at Havwoods sourcing materials from sustainably responsible forests has never been as important as it is today. Sustainability affects everything that we do and we are continuously taking new steps to improve our actions in this area. We do our utmost to ensure that our timber is ethically and sustainably sourced, and we work only with reputable timber companies. Independent certification to verify our timber sources is available for you as our customer to demonstrate to your clients that you have met their expectations for ethical trading.

“Information is now more accessible to the end user so inevitably more questions are being asked about our supply chains. All our mills offer complete transparency, and we are continuing to add extra accreditation to our products to quantify our eco-credentials. After nearly 50 years in the flooring industry, we have proved our sustainable qualities and are known as one of the most reputable suppliers of quality timber surfacing.” Anthony Scott, Global Product Director, Havwoods

HavSeal™ recognises responsibly sourced products HavSeal™ is Havwoods’ own seal of approval taking significant measures ensuring sustainable and responsible procurement within our supply chain. HavSeal is awarded to those products that exceed the already high standards needed to ensure entry into our portfolio. Not only do we consider the origin of material, the legality and sustainability of each of the products, but we also take into account the energy used in the production of the product, the chemical content of the product as well as the mill’s commitment to re-using its waste. We only work with the best mills and have found that the HavSeal ranking system incentivises best practice across our supply chain.

The Green Seal is awarded to products that offer extra international accreditation, identified as coming from sources that offer higher standards of energy use and waste generation. The Gold Seal is awarded to products coming from mills that show an extreme passion and proactive approach to ecological benefits. These may include reusable heating for local communities, the powering of wind turbines, financing the re- introduction of animals into the forest areas, and commitment to replanting forest and woodland areas such as the Forest Stewardship.
