W aggy T ails M eadow in the spotlight – access control unleashed That’s certainly true of Waggy Tails Meadow, a dog facility provided by North Devon Hospice. It came about after the team at the charity realised they could make the most of a nearby plot of land by transforming it into a secure paddock for man’s best friend. Equipped with agility equipment, off-street parking, mixed terrain and more, the paddock represented a great opportunity to capitalise on the increased pet spend trend and create a successful funding stream for the hospice’s essential services. The challenge was having the right tech. The hospice needed an access control solution that: • Worked remotely without internet or power • Provided time-sensitive access codes • Automated online booking for dog owners • Minimised staff management The hospice created the solution with a Codelocks XtraD Heavy Duty CL5030 equipped with NetCode® and the Codelocks API. NetCode® lets the hospice create time-sensitive codes that work offline and are exclusive to different
bookings. The API integration connects the system into the web-based booking portal, which emails pet owners with their access code once the booking is made. And the XtraD Heavy Duty lock ensures the paddock is doggy-proof and safe – even after prolonged exposure to the weather.
