STEP THREE TAKE YOUR TIME GOING BACK • Start the clubhead back on a wide arc. • Hinge it upwards when you get about halfway back ( below ). • Make a full backswing – but don’t rush it to the top.
STEP FOUR STAY SMOOTH SWINGING THROUGH • Think slow and smooth coming down ( above ). • Keep your grip pressure soft. • Continue your body rotation towards the target ( above, right ). • Let the clubface slide under the ball.
STEP FIVE CHECK YOUR TENSION • Be sure not to increase grip pressure through impact. • Keep your body turning until you face the target. • For a tension-free finish, let the club slide down your fingers ( below ).
