FY 2023-24 Adopted Budget Book

~Conclusion~ The FY 2024 budget demonstrates our financial diligence and steadfast commitment to provide residents and business owners with quality public services. The FY 2024 budget includes the first fully funded year with the salary adjustments made in FY 2023. This increase has successfully reduced turnover and allowed for full staffing in our public safety departments for the first time in several years. The budget also includes capital funding for several significant projects that will provide significant enhancements to the DeSoto community. These include funding for beginning construction of a state-of-the-art aquatic and recreation center at McCowan Park and road widening projects on Westmoreland, Pleasant Run, and Danieldale Road. The budget also provides the City Council’s desired goal of $5 million annually for general roadway repairs and maintenance. This progress is coupled with our unwavering focus on funding deferred maintenance projects from many years ago relating to City-owned buildings, roads, alleyways and underground infrastructure. These improvements are a hallmark of our conservative budgeting strategies and goals. The City has preserved a consistent and impressive level of fiscal health and stability.

Sincerely,

Brandon Wright City Manager
