Seasonal foods and beverages will be available for purchase. Denver Botanic Gardens, 1007 York Street, Denver, Colorado www.botanicgardens.org Enter the world of “Pedal Punk,” a steampunk-inspired place where cycling is the way to escape the technology-obsessed society. In “Pedal Punk,” audiences experience the excitement, artistry and thrill that occurs when a wacky bike shop mechanic interacts with cyclists and bikes — he repairs more than broken pieces. The New York Times called the synergy between man and machine “exceptional, evocative, eye-catching and grossly entertaining … in a word, excellent.” Weinberg Center for the Arts, 20 West Patrick Street, Frederick, Maryland www.cirquemechanics.com October 21 Carroll Creek Movie Night Features Hocus Pocus and Beetlejuice Grab your lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks, and gather round in Carroll Creek Park’s 350-seat amphitheater to experience the ghoulish magic of some classic scary-fun films. Stroll through the streets of Salem on Halloween night with three wicked sisters, and do some haunting with the infamous Beetlejuice. This double feature is bound to a fun-filled fright! Mount Vernon may be more “spirited” than you think. Admire the architecture while guides regale you with the history and haunted lore of this striking neighborhood that was home to many of Baltimore’s leading citizens. Hear about those who have never checked out of the Belvedere, a séance gone wrong and more than one grand dame who still oversees the activities of her home. Pull back the curtain and peer into the other side. Sidewalk outside of the Belvedere, 1 East Chase Street, Baltimore www.baltimoreghosttours.com Come have a sweet time and enjoy tours of the West Baton Rouge Museum and grounds, traditional folk art demonstrations, sugar cane grinding, live music, living history activities, and plantation fare in a rural setting at this celebration of the sugar cane harvest.
