People probably thought I was crazy.” And the timing couldn’t have been more perfect as Seaton’s other truck had recently broken down. “The week before that call came in my other truck had something happen to the transmission, stranding us in Kingman (Arizona),” stated Seaton. “We ended up getting it fixed but it took like a whole month. This voucher came at the perfect time. Talk about a blessing. We got a new truck, and we love it.” She got a brand-new white RAM 3500 Tradesman with only 14 miles on it. “All the pieces just fell into place,” she said. “We weren’t looking to buy a truck at this time but once I got the call it just all came together. It really helped a lot. “Winning the voucher was definitely out of the blue and I thought ‘how could I be so lucky?’ I was so surprised. My goal this year is to be in the top 30, so this truck is definitely going to get the miles on it this year.” One of those locations will be Colorado Springs this July when Seaton, along with Turquoise Circuit average champion Madison Bean, compete for the NFR Open title against the top ladies from the other WPRA Circuits. Thanks to RAM Trucks for making this possible for one of the WPRA members for the 2023 season. As of right now, based on sponsorship changes for RAM in regard to ProRodeo as a whole, this particular program element will not be offered in 2024.
the Turquoise Circuit Finals last November she never dreamt that four months later she would receive a call from the WPRA Office letting her know she was the recipient of the 2023 Ram Circuit Truck Voucher. A voucher that once was
awarded at the Ram National Circuit Finals Rodeo was transferred to the WPRA with the development and changes surrounding the NFR Open. For the 2023 voucher the WPRA Board of Directors decided to put all circuit leaders going into their respective Circuit Finals in barrel racing and breakaway roping into a raffle. The drawing for the $20,000 voucher landed in Turquoise Circuit year-end champion Tara Seaton’s lap. “It was funny because I was at Walmart grocery shopping,” recalled Seaton of Winslow, Arizona. “I was pushing my cart in the wind, and I had my AirPods in when I got a call from the WPRA office. I thought ‘I wonder what they are calling me about?’ So, I answered it while also trying to push my cart in the wind and every time she would get to the amount of the voucher it would cut out and had to have her repeat it a few times. “Once I was finally able to hear the $20,000, I was so excited and
