Your hard work, dedication, and positive spirit have made a lasting impact on our community, and we are truly thankful for everything you've done. To celebrate the end of a successful season, our Executive Director held a lovely farewell brunch with our H- 2B staff at the Beach Club for all to enjoy. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the season, share stories, and show appreciation for your many contributions. You’ve brought energy, enthusiasm, and excellence to every task, and we couldn’t have done it without you. As you return home or move on to your next adventure, please know you’ll always be part of the Frenchman’s Creek family.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY
SUNDAY, MAY 11, 2025
Honoring the Heart of Our Frenchman’s Creek Family To all the incredible mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures among the employees of Frenchman’s Creek Beach & Country Club—we celebrate you today! Your strength, compassion, and dedication shine through in all you do, both at home and here at the Club. You balance countless responsibilities with grace, and your contributions—big and small—make a lasting impact on our entire community. A Brief History of Mother’s Day: Mother’s Day was first celebrated in the U.S. in 1908, thanks to Anna Jarvis, who wanted to honor her late mother’s selfless care. Her efforts led to the holiday being officially recognized in 1914. Since then, Mother’s Day has become a cherished time to reflect on the love, sacrifice, and nurturing spirit of mothers everywhere. At Frenchman’s Creek, we are fortunate to have so many strong and inspiring women among our team. Today, we thank you for everything you do—at work, at home, and in the lives of those who look up to you. Wishing you a beautiful Mother’s Day filled with appreciation and love.
History & Celebration in the USA CINCO DE MAYO
What is Cinco de Mayo?
Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day (that’s September 16). Instead, Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Battle of Puebla, which took place on May 5, 1862. On that day, a small, under- equipped Mexican army achieved a surprising victory over the much larger and better-armed French forces. Though not a major holiday in Mexico, Cinco de Mayo is a powerful symbol of Mexican resistance and pride— especially in the region of Puebla. Celebrating in the United States: Cinco de Mayo has become a widely celebrated cultural event in the U.S., particularly in communities with strong Mexican-American roots. It’s a day to honor Mexican heritage, history, and contributions to American culture through: Parades and music Traditional food and drink Folkloric dancing Festivals and family gatherings For many Americans, Cinco de Mayo is also a time to celebrate diversity and unity through shared traditions, food, and fun.
At Frenchman’s Creek, we join in the celebration with a festive day of Cinco de Mayo cuisine—a flavorful way to honor culture and community together.
¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo!
