Adam Guinn Adam Guinn is a Lead Engineer who has worked for Duke Energy for 17 years where he currently works in the Transmission Operations and Planning Strategy group. Adam joined Progress Energy as a System operator in 2004 where he worked as a TOP and BA System Operator, obtaining his NERC Certification at the RC level. During his time at Duke Energy he served as a System Operator for 4 years, an analyst and application developer in the Energy Management System (EMS) area for 6 years, a System Operations Engineer for 6 years, and have been working in Transmission Operations and Planning Strategy group for almost a year. Adam obtained a BS in Electrical Engineering and a BS in Computer Engineering from NC State University in 2003. Adam later obtained a MS in Electric Power Systems Engineering and a Renewable Electric Energy Systems Graduate certificate from NC State University in 2015. He became a licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina in 2004.
Brian Haggard Brian is the Manager of Operations Training for Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC). Brian has been with Georgia System Operations Corp. (GSOC) for 16 years prior to that he spent 6 years in the metering and SCADA field. In his 16 year career at GSOC Brian has held the positions of Operations Support Engineer, Floor Engineer, and Operations Trainer. Brian has a bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee. He is NERC certified with a RC credential and has served on the System Operator Working Group for 14 years and currently is the chair of the Working Group.

Dana Vines Dana Vines has 38 years of experience with Southern Company. Prior to joining Bulk Power Operations (BPO), she worked 16 years with Alabama Power Company and 7 years with Southern Company in Transmission Policy and Services. In 2005, Dana joined BPO and became a NERC RC Certified System Operator. She transferred to the BPO Training Department in 2008 and was named Operations Training Manager in December of 2019.
Edward Brinson Edward Brinson has 30 years working for the electrical utility industry: eight years with Florida Power and twenty-two years with Entergy. During this time, he has worked in both distribution and transmission. His job duties have included: distribution and transmission planning, distribution and transmission relay, distribution and transmission operations centers, transmission operation training, substation and transmission maintenance, and distribution design. He is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Florida and holds his NERC Reliability Coordination certification.

Hassan Hamdar Hassan Hamdar joined SERC in July of 2019 after the transition of FRCC into SERC. Hassan worked in various roles at FRCC for over 11 years. His main focus at FRCC was event analysis and situational awareness but he was also responsible for misoperations reporting and system operator training. His role at SERC is Program Manager of Event Analysis which is something he really enjoys. Hassan has a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida and he is a NERC Certified System Operator
Joel Wise Joel is the Manager for NERC, Regulatory & Operations Training for the Tennessee Valley Authority. He has over 32 years of experience in the electric utility industry, with all of it in the generation or system operations areas. A summary of his time in the industry includes: 7 1/2 years as a Conventional and Pumped Storage Hydro Operator for Duke Energy Carolinas, 5 1/2 years as a System Operator in the Duke Energy Carolinas System Operating Center which included the BA, IA, TSP, and RC responsibilities, 2 1/2 years as a Balancing Authority System Operator and Senior BA System Operator for TVA, and 4 1/2 years as a Specialist, Reliability Analysis and Operations System Operator for TVA which provides Real- time and next day analysis and support for the TVA RC function. Joel has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Energy Management through Bismarck State College and is a NERC certified System Operator Reliability Coordinator.

Louis Guidry Louis Guidry is a registered Professional Engineer in the field of Electrical Engineering and has been with Cleco for 35 years. Louis' career at Cleco has included work related to substation design; communication systems; transmission system planning; transmission relaying and controls; system protection planning and design; and system protection apparatus maintenance. In 2006, Louis began working exclusively in the area of NERC reliability compliance and in 2011 was promoted to Manager - NERC Compliance & Training. In 2019, Louis transitioned back into operations when he became Manager of Transmission Operations. Currently, Louis is Director of Transmission & Distribution Maintenance which includes all substation maintenance plus transmission line maintenance. In addition to his work experience at Cleco, Louis has earned the NERC System Operator Certification of Reliability Operator. Louis was past Chairman of the SPP System Protection and Control Working Group and he also served on the SPP Reliability Compliance Group. Currently, Louis is serving on the NERC System Protection and Control Working Group (SPCWG) and the Misoperation Information Data Analysis System (MIDAS) working group. Mike Hagee Michael Hagee is a Senior Reliability and Security Advisor at SERC Reliability Corporation, a nonprofit corporation responsible for promoting and improving the reliability, adequacy, and critical infrastructure protection of the bulk power system in all or portions of 16 southeastern and central states. Mr. Hagee currently supports efforts in the Outreach and Training Department primarily focusing on Entity Assistance. Mr. Hagee previously provided staff support for the SERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Committee (CIPC) as well as a Senior CIP Compliance Auditor, and as such, served as an Audit Team Lead and team member during spot checks and audits of compliance with NERC Reliability Standards in the SERC Region. Prior to joining the SERC Reliability Corporation, Mr. Hagee was employed with Duke Energy Corporation in Charlotte, NC for 32 years, where he worked in various positions in the Nuclear and Corporate Security Departments managing their physical security programs, such as contract guard service, closed circuit television, access control systems, and investigations. Before retiring in 2011, Mr. Hagee was the Critical Infrastructure Asset Protection Manager for Duke Energy responsible for managing their regulated physical security programs, such as NERC CIP, FERC Dam Security, Maritime Security, and Chemical Security.
Mr. Hagee has a Master of Arts in Business and Security Organizational Management from Webster University and a BS in Business Administration from Appalachian State University. Mr. Hagee is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and holds an Insider Threat Program Management Certificate with Carnegie Mellon’s Security Engineering Institute (SEI).

Pat Everly Pat Everly is the president of OES-NA, LLC, which is a training-consultant company. He has over 40 years serving many roles in the electric industry. Pat started his career with Philadelphia Electric Company and spent 11 years in nuclear and fossil generation. Upon leaving PECO, Pat moved on to the PJM Interconnection as a System Operator and eventually the Operations Training Supervisor. Pat left PJM in 2001 to fill the newly created NERC Certification Manager position. In this role, he was responsible for the administrative duties for the NERC, WECC, and PJM certification programs. In 2003, he resigned his position at NERC to start OES-NA. Pat has previously served system operators as: Vice Chair - NERC Examination Working Group, Vice-president and Treasurer for APDA – Northeast Area, and is currently the Chair for the IEEE Working Group for System Operator Training. Pat has been a guest speaker at previous Short Courses, American Power Dispatcher Association Meetings, the IEEE and various Regional seminars arou.und North America
Paul “Scotty” Campbell Scotty has been in the electrical industry for over two decades. After spending 2 years with supply chain, He moved into real time operations working in distribution and transmission control centers in the Entergy footprint for twelve years. Samantha Lee-Conroy Samantha Lee is Physical Security Analyst for the Electricity Information Sharing and Analysis Center (EISAC). She provides in depth quality analysis and risk management expertise, as well as directly engages and collaborates with the Electricity Industry Asset Owners and Operators across North America. She is recognized as a specialist in resilience, risk management and analysis, with a focus on critical infrastructure, security and continuity with 10 years of policy, planning, and program management experience. Her prior experience includes working as a senior consultant for the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of Security Programs, where she was the project lead for the development of an Agency wide Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) in support of the Legislative and Judicial Branches of Government. She also led a Business Process Analysis across the AOC to further identify, verify and validate mission critical support functions to further assist in the risk analysis of critical infrastructure and operational planning across the Capitol Hill Complex in support of the AOC resilience mission. Prior to consulting, Samantha was a contractor supporting DHS Science & Technology, Office of National Laboratories and was the Operations Program Manager and responsible for the oversight of the facility operations and maintenance of a $28.86M program across two National DHS Labs; a Transportation Security/Explosives Lab and a Radiological, Nuclear Testing and Evaluations Lab. Samantha earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Gallaudet University majoring in Interpreting and Deaf Studies. She is also certified as an Insider Threat Program Manager (ITPM) from Carnegie Mellon University, as well as certified in Safety, Health and Environmental Management Systems (SHEMS) Internal Auditor.
Trevor Hines
Trevor Hines, manager of South Region Reliability Coordination at MISO based in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a dedicated professional with 15 years of experience in the energy industry. He joined MISO as an intern in 2007 and has worked in various roles throughout his career, including control room operator, technical trainer, MISO South integration team, GridEx coordinator and outage coordination. Hines, a native of Carmel, Indiana, earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington. He holds a North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Reliability Coordination certification and is a trained Development Dimensions International facilitator.

Todd Lucas
Todd Lucas is General Manager of Bulk Power Operations (BPO) at Southern Company. In this role, Todd ensures reliable operations across Southern’s Bulk Electric System (BES) territory which encompasses the following entities: Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi Power companies, Georgia System Operations Company, Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia, Southeastern Power Administration, and Power South Energy Cooperative. Todd’s responsibilities include oversight of real-time system operations and operations support. Several NERC Reliability Functions are under his purview and perform numerous coordinated activities in support of a reliable Bulk Electric System. In addition to these core functions, Todd’s scope extends to operator training, compliance assurance, operations planning and data integrity. Prior to his current role, Todd progressed through supervisory and management positions including transmission system operations, transmission planning, transmission maintenance, and project management. Todd is an industry leader with continuous engagement on key focus areas. He served as the IOU sector representative on NERC’s Operating Committee (2015-2016). When NERC’s initiative on Integration of Variable Generation concluded, Todd joined the Essential Reliability Services Working Group as Vice Chair. His contributions to this effort positively influenced the eventual NERC report
