Hassan Hamdar Hassan Hamdar joined SERC in July of 2019 after the transition of FRCC into SERC. Hassan worked in various roles at FRCC for over 11 years. His main focus at FRCC was event analysis and situational awareness but he was also responsible for misoperations reporting and system operator training. His role at SERC is Program Manager of Event Analysis which is something he really enjoys. Hassan has a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida and he is a NERC Certified System Operator
Joel Wise Joel is the Manager for NERC, Regulatory & Operations Training for the Tennessee Valley Authority. He has over 32 years of experience in the electric utility industry, with all of it in the generation or system operations areas. A summary of his time in the industry includes: 7 1/2 years as a Conventional and Pumped Storage Hydro Operator for Duke Energy Carolinas, 5 1/2 years as a System Operator in the Duke Energy Carolinas System Operating Center which included the BA, IA, TSP, and RC responsibilities, 2 1/2 years as a Balancing Authority System Operator and Senior BA System Operator for TVA, and 4 1/2 years as a Specialist, Reliability Analysis and Operations System Operator for TVA which provides Real- time and next day analysis and support for the TVA RC function. Joel has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Energy Management through Bismarck State College and is a NERC certified System Operator Reliability Coordinator.
