Auch die Ansprüche an Konsumgüter wie Möbel ändern sich. Es reicht nicht mehr aus, schöneMöbel mit guter Funktiona- lität zu vereinen. Konsumenten wollen zunehmend Produkte aus nach- haltigenMaterialien,dienachGebrauchwiederrecyceltwerdenkönnen und woraus dann wieder neue Produkte hergestellt werden. Rohstoffe, die wir der Natur entnehmen, sollen möglichst lange verwendet wer- den. MBM hat daher schon vor der Jahrtausendwende angefangen einen Ersatz für tropisches Teakholz zu entwickeln. Daraus entstand das Material Resysta. Resysta sieht aus wie Holz, es fühlt sich an wie Holz, ist aber 100%witterungsbeständig, hält unglaublich lange und ist recycelbar. Resysta kann aber mehr. Es besteht zu ca. 60% aus Reis- hülsen, einem Reststoff aus der Lebensmittelindustrie. Und weil das Material Resysta so nachhaltig und schön ist, setzen wir als innovati- ves Unternehmen aus der Möbelindustrie konsequent auf Möbel aus Resysta. Witterungsanfälliges Holz, oder gar Teakholz aus Regenwäl- dern werden Sie in unseren Möbeln nicht mehr finden - versprochen.
Always one step ahead: sustainable design for your home In 2019 MBM will be 65 years old – a reason to celebrate, but no reason to sit back – because society is changing. The demands on consumer goods such as furniture are also changing. It is no longer sufficient to combine beautiful furniture with good functionality. Con- sumers increasingly demand products made from sustainable materi- als recyclable after use and from which new products can be made. Raw materials extracted from nature should be used for as long as possible. Therefore MBM already started to develop a substitute for tro- pical teak before the millennium. The result was the material Resysta. Resysta looks like wood, it feels like wood but is 100% weather- resistant, lasts incredibly long and is recyclable. But Resysta can do even more. It consists of approximately 60% rice husk, a food industry residue. Due to the fact that this material is so sustainable and beau- tiful, we are the first company in the furniture industry to consistently rely on furniture made of Resysta. You will not find weather-prone wood or even teak from rain forests in our furniture – that is a promise.
