EXCLUSIVE LIGHTFORCE® TREATMENT HEADS

EXCLUSIVE MASSAGE BALL TECHNOLOGY

Refractive Index The fused silica composition of the massage ball helps minimize light loss as it passes from the massage ball into the skin. Reflection On-contact application of delivery to tissue minimizes energy loss due to reflection. Soft Tissue Work The massage ball allows the clinician to do manual soft tissue work with the applicator while delivering energy.

The exclusive LightForce® patented massage ball allows the clinician to treat patients on-contact. Compression The on-contact massage ball compresses superficial tissues, displacing excess fluid and helping to enhance laser penetration to deep structures. This compression reduces theimpact of superficial absorbers. Collimation The massage ball acts to collimate the light beam, helping to reduce energy loss.

Small Cone Systems: 25W XPi, 15W FXi

When treating very narrow or precise areas, the Small Cone is ideal due to its smaller spot size.

Small Massage Ball Systems: 40W XLi, 25W XPi, 15W FXi Designed to be used with low to moderate power, the Small Massage Ball is ideal for treating trigger points, around the face, or the digits of the feet and hands. Flat Window Systems: 40W XLi, 25W XPi, 15W FXi The Flat Window is great for treating superficial tissues with small to moderate surface areas, especially in the presence of boney prominences. Large Massage Ball Systems: 40W XLi, 25W XPi, 15W FXi The most commonly used on-contact head, the Massage Ball reduces light scatter on the surface while allowing physical compression of tissue. Paired with higher power settings, it is the ideal tool to address problems in the back, hips, and larger muscle groups.. Large Cone Systems: 40W XLi, 25W XPi, 15W FXi The Large Cone is designed for off contact treatments that require higher power settings and is ideal for treating larger areas or when deeper tissues need to be addressed. The Large Cone is not recommended for treatment around the face or over smaller areas due to its larger spot size.

When laser therapy is applied directly to the skin in an on-contact manner, less energy is reflected, and tissue is compressed. This results in much more energy reaching the target tissue.

XL Cone System: 40W XLi Coupled with the patented Smart

POWER Ranging from 15 all the way to 40 watts of power, LightForce® Therapy Lasers provide the power needed to reach deep tissues. The increased power directly impacts the time needed to apply a therapeutic dose of light energy, allowing clinicians to decrease the time required to treat effectively. The higher power equips clinicians to treat deeper and faster while covering more tissue area in less time.

Handpiece, the XL Cone has the unique ability to keep high power treatment comfortable for most patients. With a spot size that is twice the size of our Large Cone, it allows clinicians to safely treat large areas and deeper conditions at over 25 Watts of power.

Rolling Pin System: 40W XLi

LightForce created the Rolling Pin to allow large areas to be treated with the 40W XLi with a one of a kind, oncontact head that makes treatments simple to administer.

TIME WITH PATIENS With an average treatment time of 4-7 minutes, clinicians can use laser therapy as part of an overall plan of care and maximize the time available to treat.

FOCUSED SHOCKWAVE (F-SW)

TREATMENT WITH FOCUSED SHOCKWAVES

FOCUSED SHOCKWAVES (F-SW) Focused shockwaves are used to treat deep target areas. Focused extracorporeal shockwave therapy allows for precise diagnosis and treatment of both active and latent trigger points. These waves can penetrate approximately 12 cm with pinpoint accuracy. BIOMECHANICAL ASPECTS Unlike radial shockwaves, the power of focused shockwaves makes it possible to reduce calcifications or stones and to stimulate tissue regeneration, in addition to offering the general benefits typically associated with shockwave therapy:

1. Treating calcifications 2. Activating the healing cascade

3. Improving blood flow 4. Regenerating tissue

THREE SPACER SIZES FOR TREATMENT VERSATILITY The spacers offer various treatment options. The shorter the applicator, the more powerful the shockwave and the deeper the penetration. The longer the applicator, the more precise the focal zone.

TARGETED PAIN RELIEF Shockwaves are used to treat a wide range of pathologies in areas such as bone healing, tendinopathies, muscular trigger points/myofascial pain, dermatology, wound healing, spasticity and impotence (erectile dysfunction). It can be easier to find deeper, painful, diffuse trigger points with shockwave therapy than with palpation.

Shockwaves are used to treat a wide range of pathologies in areas such as bone healing, tendinopathies, muscular trigger points/myofascial pain, dermatology, wound healing, spasticity and impotence (erectile dysfunction). Focus shockwave has high energy (around one hundred times more powerful than a Radial Pressure Wave) making it suitable for a range of conditions in urology, orthopaedic indications, cardiology and neurology. Focus Shockwave’s power (shockwaves can penetrate approximately 12 cm with pinpoint focus) allows it to disintegrate calcifications, stones, and growths as well as providing the standard benefits of shockwave therapy; activation of the healing cascade, enhanced blood flow, and tissue regeneration.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED? Most patients experience significant improvement within 3 to 5 sessions, depending on the condition’s severity and chronicity. (Chattanooga focused and radial shockwave systems allow clinicians to tailor treatment intensity and frequency for faster recovery.) Schmitz et al (2015) WHAT IS A TYPICAL PROTOCOL FOR TREATING TENDINOPATHIES? A standard protocol includes one session per week for 3–6 weeks, depending on tissue response. Treatment involves targeting the affected tendon using Chattanooga customizable energy levels and transmitters/applicators, often combined with eccentric loading or functional rehab for best results. IS SHOCKWAVE THERAPY ONLY FOR CHRONIC CONDITIONS? While shockwave is especially effective for chronic injuries, Chattanooga devices can also be used in subacute stages to modulate pain, reduce inflammation, and accelerate healing—always based on clinical judgment. DOES FREQUENCY MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE IN OUTCOME? Research shows mixed results regarding frequency role in shockwave therapy. While it may affect depth of penetration, treatment comfort, and tissue response, it is not the sole driver of outcome. Chattanooga systems offer a wide frequency range (1–15 Hz), allowing clinicians to tailor treatments to each patient’s needs. Frequency should be considered alongside energy level, treatment protocol, and diagnosis for best results. CAN SHOCKWAVE THERAPY BE USED WITH OTHER MODALITIES / TREATMENTS? Absolutely. Combining Chattanooga Shockwave with Light Force Laser Therapy can produce synergistic effects— shockwave for mechanical stimulation and tissue remodelling, and Light force laser therapy for cellular regeneration and inflammation control. This integrative approach enhances outcome in both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
