Get Families in the Door. Keep Them Coming Back for More . At Scholastic, we believe that family engagement is more than a program. It’s an ongoing practice that’s essential to student success. With a Family Resource Center in your school, families always have a place to get the support they need.
Partner with Scholastic Education and let’s create a space that:
Enhances family access to educational resources and community services.
Fosters collaboration among families, school staff, and community partners.
Offers books and resources that reflect your families, community, and the world.
Provides workshops and trainings so families can support learning at home.
Decades of research show that family engagement leads to better grades, attendance, and attitudes toward reading. 1

Imagine a designated space in your school where families, educators, and the broader community can go to build strong, meaningful connections. It’s called a Family Resource Center , and Scholastic Education can help you build one that invites families to become active partners in their children’s education. When you work with us, we’ll help you build a content-rich Family Resource Center that reflects the unique needs and dynamics of your school community. Welcome to Your Family Resource Center
Zone 1: Check-in Setting a designated check-in space creates a welcoming tone. Hang signage in multiple languages and have take-home books available to build home libraries.
Zone 3: Supporting Literacy Encourage families to read and learn together with reading nooks filled with manipulatives, classroom magazines, and books that reflect your school community. Literacy-based games, puzzles, and flash cards can be available for use here too.
Zone 2: Technology Area Device stations provide opportunities for families to access school and community resources digitally, strengthening their capacity to navigate these resources at home.
Zone 4: Family and Educator Resource Center This station is dedicated to resources for parent mentors and professional development for educators. Fill the area with professional books that deepen educators’ knowledge and practices. Families can register for and attend workshops on financial literacy, career support, community resources, and more.
Zone 5: Family Supplies Station Help support the basic needs of your students and families with essential daily items. By providing families with non- perishable food, hygiene supplies, and coats and clothing, they can focus on learning and well-being. Consider hosting seasonal drives to build a sense of community.
