Meet the presenters
Hello, my name is Simone Smith and I am the State Manager for Learning Blade. I have been working in education for over 15 years. I've had the privilege of working as an Elementary and Middle school teacher. I really enjoyed the middle school years. During this time, I also was a lead facilitator for the Microtechnology ESOL program at the University of Central Florida. I have taught all subjects, and I have a love for STEM and Career Exploration. After my time in the classroom I worked as District Instructional and Behavior coach, in this role I supported educators with the Conditions for Learning in the classroom. I have now been in Educational Technology for over 3 years supporting educators and their work all over the state of Florida.

Willie Henderson is a Cybersecurity Outreach Specialist with CYBER.ORG, the academic outreach center in Bossier City, LA. He is a doctoral candidate with Louisiana State University – Shreveport, holds a Master of Education from Texas A&M- Commerce, and received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Millsaps College. He has over 25 years of experience in public education, all at Title I schools, during which time he has served many roles including STEM teacher, Master Teacher, and Campus Administrator. He served on the Cyber.org standards committee helping draft the first national K-12 model standards in cybersecurity. As a Cyber Education Specialist, he is leading the Louisiana based HBCU initiative, Project REACH pilot program, funded by NSA. In addition, he now co- leads the Project REACH expansion to underrepresented and underserved youth in cybersecurity, as well as creating access for those youth to cybersecurity degrees and cyber careers.
