The War of Independence
After the War of Independence, the Palmach disbanded and most of our group returned to the kibbutz, although those who had become specialists in certain military areas remained in the newly unified army. Many high-ranking Palmach officers were appoint - ed to the general staff of the army or remained until replacements were found.
