Head of International Recruitment, Head of International Admissions, Head of Global Partnerships & Head of Global Development.

SUMMARY OF MAIN JOB PURPOSE: The role holder will develop and deliver the University’s Global strategy which optimises UCA’s international student recruitment, admissions, international partnerships, and global development functions as outlined in the UCA Internationalisation Strategy 2028. Providing both strategic leadership thinking and hands-on operational management, the role holder will drive a holistic international student and internationalisation service that works in close partnership and seamlessly integrates with other directorates.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES The duties and responsibilities of a senior management team member are inherently of a professional nature and are wide ranging. It will predominately consist of project-based work (both self-initiated and developed in collaboration with members of the SMT) under the direction of the PVC Global Engagement. • Act as the lead for the development and implementation of a University-wide data driven student recruitment strategy for international markets, working across the organisation to ensure relevant input. • Ensure the international student recruitment and admissions functions of the university are developed into a cohesive effort that conveys a consistent message in support of the University’s mission, strategic goals, and objectives, ensuring sector-leading applicant experience. • Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of: (a) a comprehensive international student recruitment plan that will enhance the experience of being admitted to UCA as a student, and a life-long learner journey (including identified progression from further education to undergraduate, undergraduate to postgraduate taught, and postgraduate taught to PhD). (b) the design and delivery of an end-to- end recruitment strategy, execution and optimisation to generate leads to target

Members of the Senior Management Team are expected to make an enhanced contribution to University through their internal and external influence; multi-disciplinary working; anticipation of future requirements; consideration and communication of complex ideas or research; design and delivery of one-off learning events outside of existing frameworks and acting as an academic supervisor or mentor or other duties appropriate to the post and its seniority.

and maximise student recruitment pipeline and working with the Director of Marketing and External Relations to provide campaign materials for an integrated conversion programme; (c) delivery and development of a highly effective international admissions and applicant service function, one that is responsive to the evolving needs of identified target audiences and grounded in the principles of customer service excellence. • Carry out competitor analysis and benchmarking to inform the development and direction of the UCA’s international recruitment and admissions activity. • Working with the PVC Global Engagement and individuals from the Senior Leadership

• Develop & maintain a climate that attracts, retains and motivates top quality personnel within the directorate, both paid and volunteer. • Deputise for the PVC as required. • Undertake international and domestic travel to represent the University in establishing and managing relations with appropriate stakeholders overseas • Foster credibility in the eyes of key internal and external stakeholders ensuring effective high-level communications at all times. • Working with the PVC Global Engagement to develop and manage UCA global partnership activities including attracting enquiries, building partnerships, and identifying and diversifying institutional revenue streams. • Key account lead with priority stakeholders, lead VIP relationships and visits and UCA’s lead representative for the partnership growth initiatives. • Act as the lead for the development and implementation of a University-wide data driven global partnerships, development and mobility strategy, working across the organisation to ensure relevant input and support. • Work with the PVC Global Engagement on the development and launch of international UCA campuses, providing expert knowledge and support to UCA teams in the UK and in-country.

Team to ensure that the organisation maintains an ability to access key

relationships; to influence decision-makers; to ensure that key recruitment relationships are well managed across the organisation. • Build related processes, budgets and metrics to enable international recruitment, partnerships and admissions to scale globally with appropriate structures and efficiency. • Keep informed of developments in the fields of recruitment and admissions, not- for-profit management and governance, (and the specific business of the University)

and use this information to help the University operate with initiative and innovation.

SELECTION CRITERIA

QUALIFICATIONS Essential: • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate subject.

Desirable: • Master’s degree or equivalent Professional Qualification in an appropriate subject. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Essential and used to shortlist: • Experience of leading and managing global recruitment, admissions, partnership or international student experience functions and delivering to targets. • Experience of managing high-level client relationships and working in stakeholder management at an organizational level. • Proven track record in executing applicant conversion campaigns that deliver applicant and student pipeline, as well as oversight of international recruitment plans. • Significant experience of business and partnership development in international higher education activities including student recruitment and TNE. Desirable: • Proven track record of developing & maintaining effective teams, and a climate that attracts, retains and motivates top quality personnel. WAYS OF WORKING Essential: • Effectively plan and manage workload, prioritising work to meet deadlines and achieve personal, team and course objectives. • Ability to work only through influence to motivate and work in a collaborative way with staff and students. • Demonstrate an innovative and collaborative approach to solving problems often under pressure. • Communicate using straight forward, inspiring language that is tailored to the audience, using the most appropriate medium. • Demonstrate, promote and facilitate collaborative ways of working across the organisation.
