Our New Software Will Enhance Your Experience With Us! THINGS ARE ABOUT TO GET A LOT EASIER In our last newsletter, I mentioned why embracing change is a great thing. I talked about how it allows you to learn something new, become more adaptable, and gradually grow. I also mentioned how you may have noticed some new faces, voices, practices, and procedures in the office — and the changes are still coming! The next step of growth within our office is to update the management software my team and I use to communicate and collect client information. In the past, we’ve had some difficulties with our emails not reaching clients — it’s insane how many of them ended up in spam folders! My team and I understand how frustrating it can be to not have access to important information regarding your case. I apologize for the inconvenience and miscommunication that you’ve experienced. I hope the new software we are implementing will streamline our processes and provide a better experience for you in the future. For the past several months, I’ve been testing a program called Filevine. This software is our one-stop solution for all our legal, marketing, and integration needs! Filevine will give us the flexibility to spend less time fixing technical issues and more time providing you with the service you deserve.

With Filevine, you can access a direct portal to view the evidence included in your case, sign documents, and even make payments. Now you don’t have to worry about constantly refreshing your email to see when our messages will hit your inbox — you can view and access everything on one software! But that’s not the only way it will improve our communication with you; we will also be able to text you from the software to ensure we’re all on the same page about your case.

If we want to continue to serve you with the best possible care, we need to make some changes in order to do so. And that’s the leading factor that encourages us to keep pushing forward.”

While we are looking forward to the new management software, we’re also anticipating some learning curves. Because of this, my team and I will undergo extensive training to get ahead of any obstacles that stand in our way. We will integrate the software into our daily operations for six months to help make the transition go as smoothly as possible. We just began the process a couple of months ago and hope to fully integrate Filevine by autumn of this year. Although change can be nerve-wracking, it’s necessary! If we want to continue to serve you with the best possible care, we need to make some changes in order to do so. And that’s the leading factor that encourages us to keep pushing forward. While change will come with uncertainty and obstacles, we know that at the end of the day, it’s what’s best for you and your case. If you have any questions regarding the changes we’re implementing in the office and how that will affect you, your case, or your experience with the law office, please don’t hesitate to call me! I will be happy to ease all your concerns and ensure you remain in great hands.

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to parenting, so when you become a parent, you’ll likely employ techniques you learned from family or friends and what you learned on your own. Naturally, these techniques and your preferences may differ from what your loved ones did for their children, and sometimes, it can be difficult for them to adjust. Because of this, how do you set boundaries with family members regarding your children? Be direct when communicating boundaries. Don’t assume your loved ones know or understand your parenting style. Instead, clearly state your rules, values, practices, and expectations when others are around your children. When creating physical boundaries, you can say, “Please don’t give my child soda when they visit. That’s something I don’t want them to have.” For emotional boundaries, you can say, “Please don’t force my child to hug you. If they refuse, give them their space without compromising their feelings and comfortability.” Develop a strategy for handling pushback. “I did this with my kids, and they turned out fine! ” You may have heard this quote when vocalizing your wishes to loved ones about how to treat your children. If they question your tactics, practice what you will say so you’re not caught off guard. But most importantly, remember why you’re establishing these boundaries and upholding those values. If your loved ones fail to respect your wishes, don’t be afraid to reinforce those boundaries — it’s okay to say no! Give your family time to adjust. Changing and creating new habits is challenging, so give your loved ones time to adjust to your boundaries. However, if you’re continuing to reinforce your wishes and still meeting pushback and disrespect, it’s okay to distance yourself or cut ties. You have to put what’s best for you and your family first. If you have any questions or concerns about establishing boundaries with your loved ones, contact a marriage and family therapist to assist you. They can provide more insight and resources to help you during this time. HOW TO SET BOUNDARIES WITH YOUR FAMILY ‘BUT I DID THIS WITH MY KIDS!’

Become a Kid Again With ‘LEGO Masters’

Most of us fondly remember letting our imaginations run wild with LEGO blocks as a kid. But it turns out some people never outgrow that fun. A community of high-level adult LEGO builders can construct astounding creations. And in the competition show “LEGO Masters,” they compete spectacularly to determine who is the best of the best. “LEGO Masters” follows a format similar to most reality competition shows. Teams of two compete every week in a new challenge. The team that does the worst goes home, while the others advance closer to the title of LEGO Master. Jamie Berard and Amy Corbett, two “master builders” who design kits for LEGO, judge the contestants. Meanwhile, actor and comedian Will Arnett covers hosting duties. Contestants have access to 3 million LEGO in the studio. (Fun fact: “LEGO” is the plural of “LEGO.”) But while they have every size and shape they could ever want, the challenges are no cakewalk. The builders must create structures that move, incorporate water, or hold enormous weight. Amy and Jamie give tips while the builders work and judge the teams on creativity, function, and storytelling. Unsurprisingly, at least one team disappoints most weeks, but many builds are incredibly impressive. You’ll be shocked to learn how much is possible with six-studded bricks! Arnett is a great host who is equally impressed with the contestants’ abilities and willing to inject some levity into the proceedings. His comedic bits keep the show moving, and he’s passionate about the different builds. He also has a destructive streak. Several challenges include builders creating masterpieces for Arnett to blow up, sledgehammer, or try to break with weights. Kids, in particular, will enjoy seeing the pieces go flying. “LEGO Masters” will entertain kids, teens, and adults with laughs, competition, and some education. However, there may be one downside to watching with your children: They might ask you to buy a lot more LEGO. But that, too, presents a new opportunity to bond and spend time together as a family. Even if you don’t win any prizes, making your own creations can be just as fun as watching the pros. As Will Arnett regularly instructs contestants, “Get your brick on!”
