For Todd, Legislative Assistant for Indiana House Republicans, the stackable component was a main selling point for the program. What also stood out was the competitive curriculum that has been aligned with the rapid growth in technology and business, particularly the AI & Analytics concentration. “UIndy’s faculty, with extensive real- world experience, along with the numerous hands-on learning opportunities, assured me that this program would prepare me to be a business leader in Indiana,” said Todd. “This preparation is pivotal as I aspire
to eventually own and operate my own business within the Hoosier state. The MBA program has already accelerated my career trajectory, enhancing my capability to take on more significant responsibilities in my current role. I am immensely grateful for the faculty who have crafted such a forward- thinking program and confident that the education I am receiving is among the most competitive available today.” Meeting the needs of students? Aligning with the ever-changing real world? Accelerating career trajectories? That’s what being first is all about.

What role do you see the University playing in the local community and the broader Indianapolis region? I believe in our role as an engine for growth for our community. That requires us to help recruit, retain, and develop learners who will serve the critical need for talent in our state. Currently, Indiana has a significant talent shortage that impacts its economic growth negatively. We are excited to partner with government, nonprofits, businesses, and other organizations to not only meet their current needs for talent at all levels, but to anticipate future needs. We want to be partners with organizations as they try to recruit, develop, and retain talent to help propel Indiana forward. I believe that is an important calling for us. After all, we are not merely a university in Indianapolis but we are a university that wants to grow with Indianapolis and a university that is for Indianapolis. We truly are the University of Indianapolis.

Not bad for someone who had never been out of the country before college. “It really was a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” said Hoover. “Being out of the country really changed my perspective on a lot of things, especially how lucky we are here to have all the things that we do have.”
