BERTHOUD FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT Administrative Director

The Position The Administrative Director provides comprehensive oversight and strategic leadership for the Berthoud Fire Protection District Administrative Division. The position is responsible for the administrative functions and programs of the division including the critical areas of human resources, finance, and payroll. The Administrative Director is instrumental in developing, implementing, and overseeing

administrative services, ensuring efficient operations, support for organizational goals, and strict compliance with relevant policies and regulations. This involves managing budgets and resources, supervising administrative staff, and coordinating workflows to drive continuous improvement and foster a highly productive workplace, all while providing strategic support to the Fire Chief and senior leadership team. The Administrative Director position is an exempt status under FLSA .

■ Working in Berthoud Serving as the headquarters of the Berthoud Fire Protection District, the Town of Berthoud is a growing community along the Interstate 25 corridor just 45 miles north of Denver. The town was founded in 1884 and has a rich agricultural history. In recent years; however, Berthoud has experienced significant growth and development. Overall, the town is experiencing both residential and commercial growth with a 202 5 projected population of more than 14, 988 residents. The Town of Berthoud is surrounded by scenic mountain landscapes, rolling hills and farmland. It is home to several parks, open spaces, and an expanding trail system. The most recent addition to its recreational amenities is a 13,000 square foot indoor recreation complex and new bike park. Berthoud is home to TPC Colorado, an 18-hole tour players championship golf course, and an 865-acre golf community to include a clubhouse, community center, pool, and fitness facility. The town is known for its small-town feel and abundance of trees giving its picturesque location the nickname the ‘Garden Spot of Colorado’. The Berthoud area caters to a wide array of recreational activities, spanning from hiking, fishing, camping and boating, and is conveniently located near the great Rocky Mountains and Rocky Mountain National Park. Downtown Berthoud hosts a relaxed atmosphere with local shops and restaurants, and the area provides a strong regional school system to include two elementary schools, one middle, and one high school.

■ The Ideal Candidate Berthoud Fire is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled individual to serve as its Administrative Director. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing multiple projects and prioritizing competing demands to ensure the seamless operation of all administrative functions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in budgeting, human resources, and operational management who can provide strategic support to the Fire Chief and senior leadership. The candidate will have flexibility to ensure critical administrative support during incidents and other essential department operations as needed. Minimum Qualifications: » Bachelor ’s degree in public or business administration, finance, human resource s , or a closely related field from an accredited U.S. college or university; or ten (10)- years’ increasingly responsible administrative, program management, operations, budgetary, or similar management support work. » Three (3) years mid-level supervisory experience. » Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered . Preferred Qualifications: » Previous experience in management principles of public or fire district administration . » Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, including payroll and benefits administration.

■ Salary and Benefits The salary range for the Administrative Director is $140,000 - $166,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.
