Lopud is a small island 4.63 square kilometre off the coast of Dalmatia, its total population is around 250 permeant residents. Lopud is economically the most developed of the Elaphiti Islands, and can be reached by boat from Dubrovnik, Trsteno, Orasac and Zaton. The island is famous for its sandy beaches, in particular the bay of Šunj.

Lopud is the second largest island of the Elaphiti islands, between Kolocep and Sipan. It is famous as the “island in the middle”. Its highest point is Polačica, 216 metres (709 feet) above sea level. It has 11.5 km (7 mi) of coastline, of which 1.2 km (1 mi) is sandy.

“Wonderful - Small island, no cars. quiet. Wonderful hotel (Lafodia) and

several smaller places to stay. People are very friendly and they have some amazing places to eat, very peaceful, restful and safe.” “A slice of paradise - Lopud is gorgeous; people come here for extended vacations, not just for a day like we did. Sunj beach is among the best in all of Croatia, plus there are a couple of minor points of interest in the Lopud village.”

A place where history, art and botanical exploration ignite the senses.

While the ancient structures resonate with their own histories from the Renaissance to the 17th century, the complex offers a variety of locations and experiences that can be tailored to every taste. The secluded atmosphere of the 5,000 square meters of the monastery, fortress, and garden provides a unique backdrop to enhance any variety of event formats, from the most intimate and private gatherings to high-profile events, as well as seminars, film festivals, performances, and concerts.

Private seated dinners, in the Renaissance setting are no longer out of reach. For the most exquisite wedding arrangements in this unique environment full of peace, tranquillity and privacy.

Finally open to the public again after 20 years of sensitive restoration, Lopud 1483, a Franciscan Monastery, has been adapted to a contemporary space that can host art, symposia, retreats and many other types of cultural events.
