IT considerations BIFA believes that those responsible for submitting a Notification of Presentation of Goods message will do so directly via an API, which is connected to the HMRC ICS 2 system. Also, consideration has to be given to the role of other parties in the supply chain and what additional IT will be required. • Pre-Load Advanced Cargo Information (PLACI), • Pre-arrival declarations, • Notification of the active means of transport to the Customs office of first entry, • Diversion requests. In order to submit the declaration, the trader will need software to connect to the Shared Trader Interface and to register through Uniform User Management (UUM), which will be done by contacting HMRC and requesting a profile.
