In a tradition dating back to the early 19th century, visitors from all over the world stroll through more than a hundred shops and wooden stalls, sampling Christmas cookies, pastries and roasted almonds while sipping tradi- tional “Gluehwein,” a hot spiced red wine from decorative ceramic cups. Day 5 (Saturday) was another “travel day:” a 2-hour excursion by train from Würzburg to Frankfurt, where the group of semi-weary travelers enjoyed rest, relaxation, nourishment and a final evening of German hospitality and camaraderie before flying back to the US and their respective homes on Sunday. “Everyone in our group has told me how much they en- joyed this whirlwind discovery and demo tour,” said Kevin Erbe, National Sales Manager — Corrugated for Koenig & Bauer US. “They were all very impressed by the equip- ment and the entire Koenig & Bauer team in Germany, who were beyond knowledgeable and professional. Per- haps more so, they enjoyed the information exchange and networking with their fellow box makers while traveling for a week together in Europe.” Erbe adds, “When the good word spreads back here in the States and Canada about Koenig & Bauer and the ChromaCUT XPro’s bona fide set up while run capability, I expect we’ll make a huge impact in the market by set- ting new standards for rotary die cut set up times and run speeds.
