people physically, but also to be the means of presenting the gospel to these superstitious Islanders. Be cause of their worship of a Devil Post (tree stump) which is planted on the shore of each island, we sensed a real resistance to the Gos pel, but after living with these peo ple for just a little while, we felt the barriers break down. Pray that many will come to know Him in the months to follow. In Kwangju, we worked with Dr. Dick Nieusma, the only other Ameri can dentist in Korea at the present time. Bringing him new materials, dental books, talking over cases and reviewing different treatments and diseases were a real highlight of our trip. Our work in the city of Taegu

was different still. We held semi nars for the Korean dentists there. We were also asked to hold an Eng lish class on occasion. Our work was always by invitation and it was a blessed experience living in the missionary homes as well as having the privilege of staying in Korean homes. Not in a lifetime could one begin to cover the dental needs of the Ko rean people, but we have found it a very useful approach to reaching many with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and these past weeks have been a most gratifying experience for us. We thank God for giving us this opportunity to serve Him on our first missionary venture, and pray that there will be many more in the years to come. NOVEMBER, 1964
