ones by giving our customers and partners a unique envi- ronment to develop, test, and scale the solutions that will shape the future of packaging.”
Flint Group Digital Xeikon has announced the worldwide launch of Ecolyne, extending the availability of its sub- scription-based digital label production model beyond the Asia-Pacific market, where it was first introduced in late 2025. As production capacity expands, the company is now bringing Ecolyne to a broader global audience of converters and commercial printers looking for a more ac- cessible route into digital label production. At the heart of Ecolyne is a simple commercial proposi- tion: customers do not purchase or own the press. Instead, they access digital label printing capacity through a fixed monthly fee, giving them a predictable cost structure and avoiding the large upfront capital expenditure often asso- ciated with digital label production. Flint Group Digital Xeikon manages the installation, ser- vice and uptime of the system, allowing customers to fo- cus on production and business growth rather than equip- ment ownership and maintenance. This model is said to be relevant in a market increas- ingly shaped by shorter runs, faster turnaround expecta- tions and the need for greater production flexibility. It is also aimed specifically at smaller converters and printers looking to enter digital label production or expand their digital offering without taking on the financial and opera- tional burden of a conventional capital purchase. Making An Example One early example of how this model works in practice is FG Larsson, a fourth-generation Swedish family printing business based in Örebro. Facing smaller, more urgent food-label orders and increasing pressure on lead times, the company wanted to bring part of its food-label pro- duction in-house. However, for a small team, the cost of a conventional digital press investment would have been difficult to justify. FG Larsson chose Ecolyne because it combined the toner technology the company preferred with a commer- cial model that offered cost clarity and reduced financial exposure. Within the first weeks of operation, the compa- ny reported improved flexibility, faster responses to cus- tomer requests, and a stronger foundation for local short- run food-label production. Ecolyne is a fully managed dry-toner digital label press designed for food-safe label production and a broad range of mainstream applications. The platform offers 1200 dpi resolution, a 330 mm web width, 25 m/m print speed, and support for a broad range of label substrates with different facestocks. The Ecolyne comes standard with five printing stations, CMYK+White. To support the worldwide rollout, Flint Group Digital Xe- ikon will host two exclusive Ecolyne launch events: • June 11, 2026 at Xeikon HQ in Lier, Belgium. • June 16, 2026 in Elgin, Illinois.
The modernization of the Packaging Competence Cen- ter builds on Henkel’s strategic partnership with Nordmec- canica that was announced in May 2025. Two new machines from Nordmeccanica, the Super Combi 5000 and Super Simplex SL e800, enable all stan- dard lamination and coating processes used across the industry. They are combined with five flexible application trolleys with a gearless flexo coating technology, and ex- panded digitalization for systematic data collection. In parallel, Henkel has also invested in its testing area for pressure sensitive adhesive applications in the same building. Modern coating systems as well as UV activation and measurement systems complement the equipment in this laboratory area.
