IPAF’S NEW SAFETY AT WORK POSTERS ARE FREE TO DOWNLOAD The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) promotes the safe and effective use of powered access equipment worldwide, and now contractors, end-users and rental companies can download poster artwork and toolbox talk guidance free of charge. The material was created for use in their daily operations as part of IPAF’s Andy Access campaign promoting the safe use of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) and mast climbing work platforms (MCWPs).

Each poster illustrates a specific safety message on how to use

MEWPs correctly. The posters address issues such as rescue plans for mast climbing work platforms (MCWPs) and construction hoists, safe on-site MEWPs servicing and how to keep platform occupants safe. The Andy Access posters help communicate the valuable learning outcomes identified from the IPAF accident reporting project and reinforce the key messages covered in IPAF’s training programmes. The posters are available at https:// www.ipaf.org/en-gb/resource-library/ andy-access, in several languages.

GEDA HOSTS MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING

In October, GEDA Construction hosted the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning in both its head office in Dungannon, and its regional office in Kegworth. The staff had the opportunity to catch up, enjoy delicious treats and raise £317.50 for the Macmillan Cancer Support charity. The Tin Cup Coffee Box attended the head office for hot drinks and pastries. In Kegworth, the team visited the Hidden Gem Coffee Shop. In both locations, the

staff brought in a mix of homemade and store-bought goods – and it was easier to tell the difference in some cases than in others! The company also raised donations by setting up a raffle of three hampers filled with wine, snacks and other sweet treats up for grabs. The head office raffle winner was John Corvan, while Seamus Blaney and Rikki Scotford were the lucky draw winners in England.
