PEDLOW ENGINEERING DELIVERS MULTIPLE STRUCTURAL STEEL FABRICATIONS TO ULSTER UNIVERSITY’S BELFAST CAMPUS… STRUCTURAL STEEL
S tructural steel fabricators, Pedlow Engineering Ltd, supplied several major elements to the Ulster University Belfast Campus building during its three-year role onsite. The most significant fabrication work included: the structural steel for the main feature spiral stairs, which was specially rolled to facilitate the spiral form (since finished in timber cladding); all 220 lift shaft surrounds; the main structural steel for the lecture theatres; stair balustrades; 2,500m2 ceiling panels; finger brackets for holding all the main glass; roof walkways for access over services, plus much more. All fabrication was carried out inhouse at Pedlow Engineering’s fully equipped Lurgan workshop. Trading for 13 years, the firm has a reputation for delivering
quality products to all project sizes across all sectors. “We have an extremely well-skilled and experienced fabrication workforce,” said Barry Pedlow, Engineer. “They are organised into five teams specialising at delivering different products from flashings to stainless steel and glass and staircases and much more. Commenting on the project, Barry said, “What started out as a small contract for us, turned into a major, ongoing job. We are still supplying to the project – the next phase will be completing the delivery of all the main finishing flashes.” With its own fleet of lorries, all structural steel fabrications were delivered onsite without delay and in total compliance with the well-organised time booking system.
