This panel session explores the transformative value of the SWAP IMPACT Leadership Institute, a 7-week virtual, cohort-based program hosted by the National Association of Students With A Purpose (NASWAP). Designed for undergraduate and graduate students from all majors and disciplines, the institute empowers participants to design interdisciplinary, experiential, research- based initiatives that turn personal passion into launch-ready community projects. This interactive session features a hands-on exercise demonstrating the institute’s initiative-building framework, providing attendees with a direct experience of how the program moves from idea to impact. The presentation highlights how IMPACT serves as a high-impact leadership pipeline, offering hands-on research experience, mentorship, and national networking opportunities that build a competitive professional portfolio. For faculty, the session demonstrates how this framework fosters interdisciplinary engagement and cultivates a generation of Community Catalysts within their departments. Participants will receive specific guidance on the application process and how to attend at no cost or through significant scholarships as part of a being a SWAP partner campus. By attending this session, students will join a national movement of purpose-driven leaders.
