Marshall Orthodontics - June 2019

A CHANCE TO FIGHT

Here at Marshall Orthodontics, we want to express our support for our dear friend Michelle Hyman in her fight against cancer.

2. That we will all pray for a miracle! (Jeremiah 32:27).

3. Donations to alleviate the effects of the financial hardship she now has and will continue to endure.

A Summerville native, Michelle is an amazing daughter, a loving big sister, and a true friend. After growing up in the Lowcountry and attending local schools up until her graduation from the University of South Carolina, she’s spent the past 11 years faithfully working behind the scenes at WCSC-TV Live 5 News.

As Michelle puts up the fight of her life, her friends and family want to do everything possible to eliminate one of her anxieties: the financial burden that comes with a cancer diagnosis. The money donated to Michelle’s fight will not only provide her with peace of mind but also help her focus on resting, rehabilitating, and repeating treatments. Every single dollar helps, both financially and emotionally. If you feel inclined to donate, even if it’s just $5, $10, $20, or $50, please do. I will personally match the first $2,500 donated. Simply write the check out to Dr. Marshall, and he will handle getting the donations to her. Just include in the memo line “Team Michelle.” Just to make sure we’re doing as much as possible, we’ll also be doing a back-to-school raffle. Two individuals who enter will have a chance to win a $250 Visa gift card. The raffle will run from June through the end of August. Here’s how it works: For every $10 you donate, you will get one entry, and the winners will be drawn on Sept. 1. Let’s do everything we can to give back to one of our own in her time of need.

Now, at 37 years young, she is facing her greatest challenge yet as she fights for her life.

At the end of 2018, Michelle was suffering from pain in her shoulder and abdomen that required her to see a doctor. After the initial tests, her doctors believed she was suffering from liver disease. But after further examinations and scans, she was ultimately diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer in January 2019. Since then, she has endured weekly chemotherapy treatments.

In light of these circumstances, her friends and family are requesting three things:

1. That we all pray for Michelle’s renewed and continued strength — that she will soar on wings like an eagle, that she will run and not grow weary, that she will walk and not be faint (Isaiah 40:31).
