Him at His word. The Bible says that, “ if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (II Co rinthians 5:17). God fu r th e r promises, “ I will never leave thee nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13: 5). This life is the promise of God to all who trust His Son, Jesus Christ, as their Saviour. It is the only answer to man’s essential loneliness. It is God’s answer to you. EE Available in printed form from the American Tract Society, Oradell, New Jersey 07649.

ever, it proves so completely rea sonable that once the transaction has taken place, life apart from this magnificent design is unliv- able (I Peter 1:8). The lonely gap in man’s mind has at last been filled. Out of this marvelous rebirth emerges a man with a dimension which makes him to tally different from other people. It provides for him an accessa- bility to participate in a life of such sweeping fullness that any thing apart from it is barren and empty. It is this new life which God is offering to you if you will take

of forsaking him. God still de sired his company (I Timothy 2:4, 5). The creature could ex clude the Creator from his think ing, but he could not hide from this gnawing internal void, nor from those many forces which compelled him to inquire beyond the physical into the spiritual. Whenever man does pause to consider reality in terms of in finity, he finds persuasive evi dence that there must be an ab solute functioning universe. Fur thermore, if such a force has cre ated this intricate universe, is it too extravagant to think that the same force must have a purpose more meaningful than the aimless production of things as an end in themselves? God had no intention that His relationship with man should be non-specific and obtuse. He had a plan and wanted us to know about it. He gave us the Bible. This Book is God’s voice to man. It is not an interesting collection of myths but a source o f eternal wis dom from God Himself. It is a manuscript which must be infalli ble, or God has failed in His pur pose. It is in this remarkable Book that he reveals His marvellous plan of salvation. It tells us that man failed and God’s righteous ness demanded separation, for God cannot tolerate sin. Some thing was needed to blot out the stain of sin in order for reconci liation to be possible. Therefore God sent His Son to die on the cross and to rise again from the dead so that whosoever believes will have full salvation (John 3:16). It is redemption whose efficacy is not based on our flimsy ability to follow a stiff moral code, but on a belief that what He has done for us has been accomplished with such undeniable completeness that our eternal destiny is forever se cured. This plan is so masterful, yet so simple, that it surpasses the wisdom of man. To his meager way of thinking it appears ludi crous. To those who believe, how
