The Reactive Layer Coating process used in Harrell’s POLYON® controlled-release fertilizer creates a tight adhesion of the polymer coating to the heated urea substrate material. This ensures: •  Predictability of Release - we have decades of data with proven results for your specific growing environment. To ensure POLYON® fertilizer can go the distance in extreme temperatures, we test POLYON® fertilizer performance at 86° F (30°C) • Durability of the Prill - the tight adhesion of the coating to the substrate leads to durability of the prill, which is key to the predictability of release. •  Consistency of Results - The durable POLYON® fertilizer prill withstands tough conditions ensuring the nutrients are preserved up until the specific time they’re scheduled to release, giving you consistent greening all season-long. We guarantee it. Once applied, POLYON® Controlled-Release Fertilizer settles and begins reacting to the environment. In suitable conditions, POLYON® fertilizer begins to release within 1-2 weeks after application. Coating thickness and temperature affect the Nitrogen release rate.
