Supporting the Business • Developing an understanding of the business departments supported and works with these departments to provide support with queries about data and reporting • Designing of targeted reports and dashboards that will provide insight and enable sound business decision-making. • Mapping and tracing data from system to system in order to solve a given business or system problem Reporting and Data Governance Responsibilities • Develop & maintain reporting repositories • Producing documentation on the current data stored on ULaw systems. This includes the types and structure of the business data, data sources and data flows • Ensure data is compliant with GDPR and ULaw policies • Ensure data accuracy and consistency between systems •Ensure data validation routines are in place both on data input and ongoing checks

Specific Responsibilities

• Provide timelines for project plan • Manage deliverables and feedback to Project Manager on progress, risks and issues Analysis of reporting and data requirements • Review and collect reporting and data requirements through workshops, interviews, document analysis, surveys, use cases, business process descriptions, and workflow analysis • Collaborate with the Business Analyst on the production of the Business Requirements Specification

•Ensure data duplication routines are in place across systems •Ensure data cleansing routines are in place where required • Provide an audit of data issues and resolutions

Reporting and Data extracts • Design of data repositories for reporting • Design of reports, extracts and Dashboards

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing Working collaboratively with Business Analysts and BI Analyst to ensure that business requirements are met and to identify automating process opportunities and functions that will streamline current and future reporting and data management for the business. Collaborating with the other members of the IT department, ensuring that there is a thorough understanding of the business’s reporting and data needs and priorities, as well as the ongoing strategic initiatives where data collection, analysis, and migration is required. Maintaining a clear understanding of analytics, reporting, and technology and apply this knowledge to develop and recommend solutions that will further enhance the business’s competitive edge and share this knowledge with the department

Data Migration • Produce data mapping document • Design and develop data migration scripts • Use Scribe data integration tool to migrate data from one system to another Systems Integration • Produce data mapping document • Design and develop systems Integration scripts • Use Scribe data integration tool to transfer data from one system to another Regulatory Reporting • The University of Law has to report to a number of regulatory bodies such as HESA, OfS, SRA, BSB. Each of these have different reporting requirements. This role is responsible for ensuring systems and processes are in place to produce these submissions as required and to ensure that the reports produced are accurate and meet the requirements of the regulator. This role works very closely with the Registry department who are responsible for submitting the reports to the regulators.

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the job holder may be required to perform other duties as assigned by members of the IT Management Team from time to time.

The job holder has a duty to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons with whom they come into contact at work.
