Brunswick Mayor James Cahill celebrated the ribbon cutting for the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Ambulatory Medical Pavilion, a state-of-the-art, 15-story build- ing located at 210 Somerset St. Developed and owned by AST, the 229,000 s/f pavilion is mas- ter leased to Robert Wood John- son University Hospital, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, and will substantially increase access to comprehensive care in the region. Situated in the heart of New Brunswick’s healthcare district, AST worked closely with RWJUH, the state’s largest academic medical center through its partner- ship with Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) to design and build a facility tailored to the health system’s long- term needs. The RWJUH Ambulatory Medical Pavilion supports RWJUH centers of excellence service lines in an outpatient setting. The build- ing features leading-edge exam rooms to enhance clini- cal practice workflows and the patient experience, along with a modern ground floor lobby complete with a café and direct access to the adja- cent public parking garage. AST’s vision for 210 Somer- set Street dates back nearly 20 years when it began its three-phase redevelopment for a 1.20-acre city block between Somerset St. and French Street in downtown New Brunswick. The building boasts ample on-site parking, a spacious reception/waiting area, and multiple entrances providing convenient ac- cess.
