Location: Villanova, PA Type of project: New Addition to Academic Building Size: 150,000 SF Construction management services for a three-story, plus partial basement, addition to the existing Center for Engineering, Education, and Research (CEER), now known as Drosdick Hall, located on the university’s main campus. The new addition surrounds the existing building on three sides and was constructed as the existing facility remained fully occupied and operational. The expansion project provided a 63% increase in overall lab space, including eleven specialized spaces for multi-disciplinary teams in robotics, intelligence systems, advanced energy, and cellular engineering, and a two-story engineering innovation lab with 3-D printers, work benches and work spaces with tools and equipment. The addition also includes a three-story glass atrium, instruction spaces, multi-functional classrooms, three green roofs, and expanded café space.

REDCOM transformed the United Way of Greater Union County’s headquarters in Rahway, NJ, at below cost. REDCOM served as construction manager and general contractor to oversee the project that included a full interior renovation and fit-out and roof replacement. The building, once occupied by Elizabethtown Gas, required all new mechanical systems, wiring and plumbing, a fire alarm system, and removal of the basement ceiling and framing. The most significant challenges faced were addressing severe basement leaks and drainage issues. However, REDCOM successfully resolved these problems, bringing the space up to code and ensuring a safe environment for all.

The Elizabethtown College cadaver laboratory was updated to mimic an actual hospital setting, combining two classrooms into one large lab that can be separated by an operable partition. The lab includes a viewing room with electrically controlled privacy glass, sanitization room, cadaver storage room, and a vestibule.
