Project and Change Request Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of the business and how it functions

Specific Responsibilities

• Gather business requirements by individual meetings and workshops. • Document ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ business processes. • Produce Business Requirements Specifications to ULaw standard. • Produce RFI / RFP documents to support the tender process where 3rd party solution is required. • Support business case production through the capture, analysis and prioritisation of benefits • Work with Solution Delivery team to propose appropriate solutions. • Produce Functional Design Specifications to ULaw standard. • Support the UAT process by identifying whether issues raised are actually change requests and ensuring these are logged against the project.

• Promote and sustain a constructive, supportive and friendly working relationship with all customers, external and internal, immediate and senior management and other work colleagues. • Assist with training all relevant staff in the usage of business systems to enable them to perform their duties to the best of their ability. Assistance with the creation of training programmes, exercises, manuals and instruction sheets.

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the job holder may be required to perform other duties as assigned by members of the IT management team from time to time.

The job holder has a duty to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons with whom they come into contact at work. The job holder also has a duty to co- operate with the University in complying with any statutory duty or requirement concerning health and safety at work. In particular, they must familiarise themselves with the Health and Safety Policy and its safety and fire procedures.

Project Management • Provide input to the project plan • Report project progress to Project Manager

• Under some circumstance limited Project Management support will be available – a good understanding of project management is therefore desirable and management of small projects and changes may be essential at times.
