You can review each girl by running the Girl Balance Summary Report in Smart Cookies. Instructions can be found on page 29. Families assume financial responsibility for every package of cookies they take. These packages can be transferred to other girls or troop if a recipient is available. Make sure your families know you cannot take cookies back; you cannot return them to the council.

UNPAID DEBT FROM FAMILIES If a family has unpaid debt at the end of the program, the TCM must have correctly filled out receipts in order to turn in the debt AND TCMs must meet with their SU PPM to turn over receipts and debt details. Families who owe funds will be listed in a database; GSKSMO will reach out to follow up. If the family pays the troop, the TCM must notify GSKSMO with an update. Unpaid debt may result in the Girl Scout and/or Family members being restricted from participating traditionally in the Cookie Program. Cookie Booth sales and Direct Ship participation will be allowed. If a family has unpaid debt, the Girl Scout will receive recognitions distributed by the TCM (patches, cups, shirts, etc.) but higher-level items (Day at the K, WOF, Cookie Dough, etc.) will not be distributed until the debt is paid. We will not provide make-up tickets for events that are over by the time the debt is paid. In the event of fire, theft, or other disaster, the adult who possesses the cookies or cookie money is financially responsible. GSKSMO will work with the family responsible with a police report.

Check in regularly with families about payments and inventory.
