as th e ir Savior. Some of these men told us th a t they had been reading the Gos pel of Jo h n for some time, and being convinced of th e tru th , wanted to be saved. Surely no one would dare say th a t our tim e and money given for work among these Mexicans is wasted. We are th ink ing of th e friend who a little over a y ear ago came to us and said, “You order a thousand Gospels of John and send me the bill.” Our friend will surely come in for a goodly share of rew ards in th a t day when He comes to give every man his reward. Who would say th a t he did no t make a good investment? As we go into th e camps and d istribu te tracts, th e men will pull out of th e ir pockets a Gospel of John and say, “You gave me th is book.” When we ask them if they have read it, they will invariably answer in th e af firmative. One day we stepped into a room with a group of young men and while talking, ano th er man who was sleeping on the floor, awakened and scrambling for his Gospel, held it up to me, saying, “ I read th is every n igh t and it( is a comfort and blessing to me.” We asked him if he had accepted th e Savior and he con fessed th a t he had and was saved. So it goes from camp to camp and God who keeps th e record only knows how many th e re will be who will come w ith in th e pearly gates because someone was w illing to invest a little money in a thousand Gospels. Our supply has run out and we earnestly request th e read ers’ prayers th a t more Gospels may be supplied.
of death, it surely is th e poor Romanist, no m a tte r of what nationality he may he. It has been our privilege for the la st twenty-five years to be one of God’s light-bearers to those who were sitting in darkness and in th e shadow of death both in th e foreign and home field. F o r th e last six years it has been our privilege to visit the different railroad camps and colonies where the Mexican people exist. We do not say live, for if you could go w ith us and see th e awful condition in which they live, you would also say w ith us th a t they only exist. F o r these past years we have visited them in th e ir shacks and taken to them the Gospel which is th e power of God unto salvation and we bear te sti mony th a t we h a v e , always been re ceived w ith courtesy and good attention. W hile many a t first were doubtful as to our motives and others were super stitious, yet as we have continued to visit them , week afte r week, th e Word of God has made its impression and “th e entrance of thy word enlightened” so th a t in the course pf tim e we have had th e blessed privilege of reaping. In one of th e camps, where we have sown th e seed faithfully, God our F a th e r caused an awakening and the students reported large crowds who gathered to h ear th e Word. So on a Lord’s day recently we went down with a group of students and afte r a song service, th e Gospel was preached and some testimonies were given. _ When we gave th e invitation, th irteen men and five women came forward, all p ro fessing to accept the Lord Jesus Christ
